Pitha Thai Restaurant (中泰国餐厅） — Restaurant in Malacca

I came here to check out their Thai food quality so I thought of ordering something simple, the basic Thai food. Turned out it's quite a mixed feeling for me and it's not up to my liking unfortunately.

I ordered:

Pad Khra Pao Moo Sap with rice: 5/10, the minced pork is lacking flavor. It looks dark in color but the fragrance is not there, there's no flavor of oyster sauce. The basil is abundant, but it's too thin to be used in cooking causing the basil flavor to be absent. Rice, like you have guessed which is not the Thai fragrant type of rice which I can accept, price.

Thai milk tea: 8/10, simple yet not too sweet. Nothing much to highlight since almost every Thai restaurant in Melaka knows how to do it well.

But let's talk about the value, I paid RM15.80 which again I think is considered a good deal (with drinks and an extra piece of fried egg). The restaurant is well decorated, not too fancy and the AC works fine. The waitresses are from Myanmar, don't expect them to Phut Tai.

In conclusion, good environment, portion and service but food needs improvement. I wouldn't say the food is bad, just not hitting the minimum level...

The portions are BIG — super worth it for the price! 🤤💯 I was especially excited to find seasonal 跳跳虾 (dancing shrimp) on the menu 🦐🔥— fresh, zesty, and so addictive!

Their oyster omelette (oyster egg) was seriously SCRUMPTIOUS — crispy on the edges and packed with flavor 🥚🦪✨ Definitely one of the best I’ve had around.

And don’t even get me started on the drinks! The Thai milk tea and green tea are both rich, fragrant, and perfectly sweetened 🧋💚🧡 — tasted just like the ones I had in Thailand!

Highly recommend if you’re looking for generous portions, authentic flavors, and a true Thai experience. Can’t wait to come...

I was surprised when I entered the restaurant. Nothing remarkable about the place, the service or the food. But then I saw that they give a discount if you write a review on Google Maps. The decor consisted of chairs and tables in its simplest form and the food was just about okay. I suspected that it might be the discount offer, that has made this restaurant have a high ranking.
