Soupy Licious Restaurant Review
Date: Sun, 8 Sep 2024
On a beautiful Sunday, we celebrated a family birthday at Soupy Licious Restaurant, located at No 1 & 3, Jalan Melaka Raya 13, Taman Melaka Raya, Melaka. The venue's elegant yet rustic vibe set the perfect atmosphere for our gathering in an air-conditioned room with two round banquet tables.
We enjoyed a 10-course feast that was a true culinary delight. The highlight was the whole BBQ suckling pig with its crispy skin and tender meat. The fried longevity noodles were perfectly chewy and flavorful, while the claypot black vinegar braised pig trotters offered a tangy, melt-in-your-mouth experience. The dry curry fish was aromatic and spicy, and the fried sotong was crispy and tender.
Other standout dishes included the refreshing fried petola with tofu, the comforting claypot rice wine chicken, and the vibrant fried HK Kai Lan with big prawns. The braised claypot tofu and deep-fried chicken were also crowd-pleasers. A special fried rice dish was prepared for a child in our group.
The meal ended on a sweet note with a lovely birthday cake topped with fresh fruits. Overall, it was a memorable and joyous occasion, filled with delicious food and cherished moments. Highly recommended for...

This restaurant has moved to a new premise in Melaka Raya. The new location is close to the previous location.
The new set up is simple but nice.
The food is still good. The Braised Pork and Yam with Chinese Buns is good. Chicken Cooked with Chinese Wine is good too.
Prices had inevitably increased but still reasonable and competitive.
Cash and credit cards are accepted here.
Cleanliness is good.
Service is good. The service level is now better in the new premise.
Waiting time for food is reasonable.
Parkings are roadside parkings. There are a few nearby big carparks. During peak hours and public holidays, getting a parking lot may require some patience.

Read moreThis restaurant serves Chinese cuisine and is located at a convenient location along Jalan Merdeka, very near the Dataran Pahlawan shopping centre. This is one of our favorite haunts everytime we come to Melaka as it is very near the Novotel Melaka where we often stay, and it is less crowded than the nearby Nonya restaurants.
The food here is excellent and the prices reasonable. The environment is also very clean and suitable for kids and family. There is also wifi available, which is a bonus!
We always love the guava appetizer and generally anything you order will be of a consistently high standard. Ironically, if there is any dish we have to complain about, it would be the soup dishes which we feel are not as good as when we first started coming here.
Tonight, we ordered the Leek with Roasted Pork (Rating 9/10), Chicken in Dry Curry Sauce (9/10), Chicken with Chinese Sausage (8/10), and the Pork Rib Soup (5/10).
As you can see from my ratings, the dishes were all delicious, except the soup which was ordinary. The other dishes we like to order at this restaurant would be the Otah and the Minced Pork Patty...
