If you find yourself in the misty heights of Genting Highlands, and your stomach starts to rumble louder than the thunderous clouds above, fear not! The answer to your gastronomic prayers lies nestled in the heart of this mountainous retreat - Ah Guang Lamb Pot.
From the moment you step into Ah Guang's realm, you're greeted by a symphony of sizzling pots and the tantalizing aroma of simmering broth that could make even the most disciplined monk break his fast. The staff, as warm and welcoming as a crackling hearth on a chilly night, guide you to your table with a smile that could melt the frost off the windows.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the lamb. This isn't just any lamb, oh no. This is lamb that's been pampered more than a Beverly Hills poodle. It's so tender, it practically melts in your mouth, like butter on a hot summer day. Each bite is a love letter from the chef, a testament to the art of slow cooking and the magic it can weave.
The signature soup, a delicious concoction that's clearly been brewed with love and a secret recipe, is a symphony of flavors that dance on your tongue. It's like a warm hug from the inside, perfect for the chilly mountain air. However, like a pop song that's just a smidge too catchy, the soup was a tad bit salty. But hey, even the Mona Lisa has her cracks, right?
The staff at Ah Guang's are the unsung heroes of this culinary adventure. They're as helpful as a Swiss army knife and as friendly as your favorite sitcom neighbor. They're there when you need them, always ready with a smile, making you feel like you're the guest of honor at a royal feast.
So, if you're in Genting Highlands and your taste buds are yearning for a journey, make a pit stop at Ah Guang Lamb Pot. It's not just a meal, it's an experience. And while it may not be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, it's a solid silver that's worth its weight in gastronomic gold.
My verdict? A hearty 4 out of 5 stars. Ah Guang Lamb Pot, you're one salty soup away from perfection. But don't worry, you're still the shepherd of my heart.
Until next time, foodies. Keep those appetites adventurous and those taste buds curious....
Read moreAh Guang Lamb Pot deserves multiple visits. In one Genting trip alone, I have had 2 visits for the same dish: Signature Yang Nam Bo. A small claypot of lamb with it's rich stock soup brought me directly back to memories of authentic HongKong Gai Bo buffets (Chicken claypot buffets).
Service was fast, staffs were very courteous and was vigilant; kept a lookout for any further needs. On my 2nd visit to Ah Guang lamb pot, staff also fried the aromatic ingredients with the lamb prior to placing a good amount of soup for the stir fried ingredients to stew. Flavours were locked in the soup, with each bowl bringing a good level of intensity that brought about warmth.
Atmosphere/ambience were great, colourful LED, mixture of classic canto pop songs and the claypot over a small fire, nothing but authentic vibes. Even the details of the crockery (Porcelein bowl with chicken graphics) brings about a sense of nostalgia.
Price wise, it was expected to be on a slightly higher side, with portions of side dishes being very similarly placed at typical hotpot prices (like HaiDiLao) but every cent spent was worth the experience. If shared with multiple persons, prices are actually quite affordable.
Overall, Ah Guang Lamb Pot Genting outlet was perfectly placed in Genting Resort Hotel, gush of warmth through the body over the generically colder environment, back ground music, aesthetic and vibes matching that of a good meal.
Definitely reccomended to try at least once if there is a preference for good flavours, "gaminess" of lamb, mixed with the element of an ala carte...

First of all, the atmosphere of the restaurant is wonderful. The decor is modern and stylish, with plenty of seating options for groups of all sizes. The staff are also incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that you have everything you need to enjoy your meal.
And of course, the hotpot itself is absolutely delicious. There are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to the broth, meats, and vegetables, so you can customize your meal to your liking. I particularly enjoyed the spicy broth, which had just the right amount of heat to complement the other flavors in the pot.
The ingredients themselves were also top-notch. All of the meats were incredibly fresh and tender, and the vegetables were crisp and flavorful. And with generous portions, there was more than enough food to go around.
Overall, I would highly recommend Ah Guang to anyone looking for a great hotpot experience. With fantastic food, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere, it's a must-visit for any foodie or...
