CHAGEE @ Sunway Carnival Mall — Restaurant in Penang

I had a very frustrating experience at Chagee in Sunway Carnival, Butterworth. First off, the store doesn't accept orders at the counter using cash (Malaysia Ringgit) or Touch 'n Go, which was really inconvenient. I was surprised when the staff told us that the only way to place an order was through their app. If you don’t have the app, you’re completely out of luck—no ordering, no buying.

It’s incredibly disappointing to see a store limit customers in this way, especially when there are plenty of people who might not want to use the app or don't have it. Second visit. Downgraded to one star. Went to order and was told to scan a QR code to download their app to order. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Left without ordering on principle.

I had been waiting to try this place for ages because every time I went there was a huge queue and ridiculous wait. Well, I finally went at a quiet time and ordered their most popular item - white peach oolong milk tea.

I assumed the popularity meant it must be really good but I have no idea what all the fuss is about. The tea was… fine. I’d actually describe it as quite mild, but perhaps people like the delicate flavour? For me, I won’t bother waiting...

the staff is having a super bad service attitude. We are there at the cashier to order but no one was there to attend us, the staff continue to do their own staff, washing things wiping table, even when we asked them to take order. Please manage your staff and give proper training. Showing customer an unfriendly face and splashing thing hardly while we asked to reduce sugar level.
