Furinkazan 风林火山 — Restaurant in Penang

Googled this place and I was pleasantly surprised! The interior was typical Japanese restaurant decor, Sushi bar with chef working behind, wooden furnitures, lanterns and warm lighting!

Wide range of choices in the menu. Felt like some beef and have chosen this Yakinikujyu, was hesitated for a while, as it’s written in menu as ‘ Sweetened Roasted Beef’ , but it came out very Oishii neh 😋. Not sweet as I thought, but tangy, nice. Will try out other dishes next time.

Also ordered Salmonjyu Teriyaki to take away for my Dad, but it was slightly burnt, might be a little overcooked, so the salmon become a bit dry and hard.

I just ordered the promotion set lunch of Unatama Don Set. The ice lemon tea is refreshing. The set of presentations is eyes satisfied. The quality and quantity of unagi just following the price. If you expected high quality food, please don't order a promotion...

Poor management, employees were not trained well, zero sense of customer service. Dishes were already served but not the white rice even already informed the staff for two times, eventually waited 30min for the white rice(no explanation from the staff), not too sure the rice cooker was broken or they were simply not prepared to run the kitchen, 80% of the time was waiting. Taste of the food is average for the price. All in all, the overall dining experience...
