Went here for dinner on a Saturday evening to have a good piece of meat after long months of traveling.
We had the rib eye steak as set (incl soup, onion rings, sauce and dessert) and Rumpsteak with garlic butter scallop, two cocktails and one Coke Zero for overall 415 RM (incl service and sst). The steaks come with fries, „salad“ and peas. They have salt and pepper on the table for you being able to season your steak.
Overall, the food was good. Here and there is some optimization potential (pumpkin soup no real pumpkin flavor, more tomato and you have a lot of peels in it; fries not really crispy, salad is no salad but lettuce and tomato placed on the plate without real dressing, Ice cream in the dessert not of high quality - not creamy) but all in all acceptable. The steaks were good as well - not the highest meat quality, but pricewise ok.
What I was disappointed of, was the service. The first impression was actually quite good - attentive, etc, but during the evening it revealed little deficits.
Don’t understand me wrong - it’s criticizing on a high level, as the staff is 200 % more attentive than the standard waiters - but a restaurant like this has to meet certain expectations.
If you don’t order other drinks you get free water. We weren’t offered water until we finished our first drinks, although everyone else at the other tables got water.
My first steak was overcooked. I was at the restroom when it arrived at the table and my husband shall cut it in half to check whether it was ok. It wasn’t - and this is a great plus - the waiter immediately confirmed, that it was overcooked. So he took it back to the kitchen. After I came back, my husband got his steak and told me about my overcooked one and that they are preparing a new one. It shouldn’t - but this can happen, no worries. Although I must admit, that there is a huge difference in consistency between medium-rare and - with good will - medium plus. The kitchen should be able to recognize this.
But what I absolutely don’t like is, that NO one informed me about this and apologized for this mistake. If my husband didn’t tell me, I wouldn’t know why I don’t have a plate in front of me. Besides the fact, that he almost finished off his plate as my new one arrived - which is quite uncomfortable.
They were checking for the quality of my husbands food a second time - for my they didn’t care. It was just imports, that the steak left the kitchen in the requested way - after that they weren’t interested anymore.
Why they put candles on the table that they don’t alight?!
No goodbye or thank you at the end or maybe a „sorry for the inconvenience“ - and they were quite emotionless during the evening. No warm welcome or a smile - but maybe this is the restaurant’s policy.
So overall I have mixed feelings about this restaurant, as the food was ok - but for those prices they have to improve. Maybe it’s okayish for the malaysian guests, but if the have the ambition to be a western restaurant they...
Read moreI recently dined at Emily's Steakhouse for my father's advanced birthday celebration, drawn in by the promising Google reviews and high ratings.
The interior and decorations are indeed superb, creating a pleasant ambiance.
I opted for a medium-rare sirloin and a medium ribeye priced between RM150-RM250, promising Angus and Wagyu premium beef as stated in the menu. To my dismay, the steak served was more than well-done. I promptly notified the waitress, who acknowledged the mistake and sent it back to the kitchen.
What followed was a baffling exchange with the chef/waitress, who insisted that the brown interior of the sirloin steak was normal for a medium-rare preparation. As someone with considerable experience in steak appreciation, I found this explanation to be misleading and disheartening.
After rejecting the misrepresented dish, the third attempt finally delivered a steak of at least medium doneness. While the bill tallied up to over RM500, the disappointing experience cast a shadow over what was meant to be a joyous birthday celebration.
It's disheartening to witness such inconsistencies between the menu promises and the delivered quality. I hope the management addresses these issues to ensure that future patrons can enjoy a truly satisfying dining experience at...
Read moreThe restaurant calls itself a steakhouse but it was the worst steak that I had ever tasted in any restaurant. We were there for a celebration and ordered a set meal (T-bone steak) for TWO. The set meal came with some green peas, onions rings that were made from one onion and the rings were stacked up so the rings were mostly of small size and weren't much to be shared. There was 1 piece of Portobello mushroom that was less than 5cm in size, shared by 2! The potato chips were oily. We had 2 bowls of soup. One was carrot soup which was starchy. The other was the mushroom soup which was very watery. The 2 prawns were not seasoned and they were dry! The only thing that was big enough to be shared was the steak which we ordered it medium rare. The steak was not seasoned at all and the meat was tasteless, dry and tough. The black pepper sauce that came with it was very starchy and of ordinary flavour, like those you could find in any cheap restaurants. With such a standard please do not call yourself a steak house. A price of RM238 and (with additional 10% service charge and 6% SST), it was a total rip-off. We left feeling hungry and angry. What a...
