Guan Heong was founded in 1918 as the FIRST HANDMADE BISCUIT SHOP in Ipoh New Town with heritage of 100 years. Taken from Hokkien terms, the name Guan Heong signifies a passion to serve the original, high-quality taste of traditional pastry to his customers. Mooncakes were awesome and it just brings back memories for the good old traditionally made Mooncake 🥮😋. We managed to have a taste on the .. 1) Pandan Lotus Paste Single Yolk -the pandan and lotus paste just bonded well perfectly , sticky and gooey that’s the good texture for a mooncake 🥮.. the egg yolk is always the highlight of the piece 😋… it’s feels homey ! 2) 传统潮州梅菜月饼 Traditional Teo Chew Vege Mooncake -Teo Chew vegetable is fame for their pickled style vegetable , and it is fused as mooncake 🥮! That is just genius and convenient. Snacking with the tasty teo chew pickle vegetables 😋 Mooncake 🥮 moment with some cutting of the Pandan Lotus Single Yolk action and Teo Chew Vege Mooncake 🥮 by @guanheongbiscuitshop #perak #malaysia The package 📦 is delivered from Ipoh, Perak and we are in full celebrative mode 🎊! Kedai Biskut Guan Heong is one of Ipoh’s most iconic traditional biscuit shops, well-loved by locals and visitors alike. Established with a long history, the shop is most famous for its signature maltose biscuits, also known as heong peng in Cantonese. These biscuits are flaky, aromatic, and filled with a sweet, sticky maltose center that makes them truly addictive. Apart from heong peng, the shop offers a wide variety of other delights such as wife biscuits, egg tarts, kaya puffs, peanut biscuits, and even coffee-flavored treats, ensuring there is something to suit every taste. One of the highlights of visiting Guan Heong is its balance of tradition and comfort. The shop is air-conditioned, making it a pleasant place to browse, even on hot days. Prices are fair, making the products not only tasty but also excellent value for money. A unique feature is the open kitchen area, where customers can see workers preparing biscuits fresh by hand. This adds to the charm and assures the quality and authenticity of the baked goods. Whether you’re buying as souvenirs or simply indulging yourself, Kedai Biskut Guan Heong delivers a nostalgic yet satisfying taste of Ipoh’s culinary heritage that continues to stand the test of time.

Got my order of mooncakes. Taste a lot better compared to the ones available at 5 star hotels with a fraction of the price. The eggyolk is really fresh and oily while there are lots of melon seeds within the mooncake. This place is also famous for the lotus meat floss biscuits. They taste absolutely good. Try the satkeima as well. Fresh and lots of sesame seeds. Online orders are available hence one does not need to shuttle up north to Ipoh to get their hands on these delicious indulgence. But if you do, reckon you will experience the friendly hospitality of the owner. Hope they keep up the taste with the 2nd generation managing the place going forward.

Young Chinese man at counter was rude & arrogant. Your shop might be famous but that does not mean you can treat your customers badly. There are many products & I had asked what filling was inside one of them, as you can't tell just by looking at the outside, plus there was no label on that particular product. I had looked at several other confectioneries in the shop after that and was finalising my purchase. I asked again what was the filling inside the biscuit a second time, as I couldnt remember, and this young insolent man said in an irritated tone, "I already told you just now". I feel that is not the right way a front counter staff should be acting, as he may be familiar with the products as he works there, but not all the customers are regulars and know the products well. I suggest he be retrained in the proper way to help customers. If not, he should be at the back of the shop doing something else, where there is no need for him to speak at all to anyone. I was really tempted to walk out of the store that day and your shop would have lost RM 200 worth of business. After all, there is a shop selling similar products just opposite Guan Heong. Instead I decided not to lower myself to his level, but post constructive comments instead on your google review, so that your shop improves your front end customer service. I will definitely reconsider going to your shop the next time I am in town, due to my...
