Funny Mountain Soya Bean in Ipoh is a popular and nostalgic spot that has been serving locals and tourists for many years. It’s famous for its smooth and silky tau fu fah (soybean pudding) and refreshing soya bean drinks.

The shop, located on Jalan Theatre, is often bustling with customers, and its unique drive-through service allows you to order and enjoy your tau fu fah without leaving your car, a testament to its popularity and efficiency.

The establishment is known for its traditional preparation methods and high-quality ingredients, which contribute to the rich and creamy texture of their desserts.

The soya bean drink is a favorite, with just the right level of sweetness and a fresh, natural taste. The tau fu fah, served with a light brown sugar syrup, melts in your mouth and has a delightful smoothness.

During my recent visit, I opted for their grass jelly drink, which was packed with generous amounts of grass jelly.

Every sip was filled with the refreshing taste of grass jelly, making it a truly worthwhile choice. If you’re a fan of traditional Chinese desserts, you won’t be disappointed.

Funny Mountain’s commitment to quality and tradition makes it a must-visit in Ipoh. It’s perfect for a quick, satisfying snack or dessert, and a great way to experience a piece of Ipoh’s...

Edit: ok I'm updating from 4 star to 5 star and adding this place to my favourites.

Still not life changing however after sampling many other tau fu fah and air soya during this trip to Malaysia I can say this was always the best one and the standard I held all others to. Each time I visited another vendor or market I get a watery and thin soya product and I wish I had the funny mountain one instead.

Original review: 3myr tau fu fah (soybean pudding) and 3myr for air soya (soya milk drink). Eat in, take away or order via your car.

Good pricing, good quality. Not a life-changing snack however I would recommend it and go back multiple times.

Served quickly and the staff are helpful. Next time I would like to try the pandan sugar syrup instead.

Silky and soft tau fu fah, a tad too sweet for me but I prefer savoury meals in general.  Not life changing but it was satisfying.

The soy milk drink is delicious and refreshing. A tad sweet, not sure if they add sugar syrup to it or that's the natural taste?

We visited again the following day for another snack and...

If the cost of a bowl of the most delectable Tou Fu Fa is on the rise, so be it! Funny Mountain Soya Beancurd, you've upped your prices, but guess what? You can't scare me away that easily!

Sure, your small bowl of the silken delight now costs more, akin to the price of a sumptuous Chendol. But if that's the cost of having the tastiest Tou Fu Fa in Ipoh, then sign me up! I mean, who am I to argue when my tastebuds are doing a happy dance with each spoonful?

My wallet might feel a tad lighter, but the joy my palate experiences is immeasurable. The perfectly balanced sweetness and smoothness of your Tou Fu Fa make me feel like a millionaire, no matter the price.

So, Funny Mountain, go ahead and raise your prices. You'll still find me lining up, eager for my bowl of creamy, delightful Tou Fu Fa. After all, in the grand quest for gastronomic perfection, there are some things that are just worth paying for.

Let's face it, despite the cost, your Tou Fu Fa is simply irreplaceable. Five stars, and here's to more delicious...
