Not sure if they are the BEST curry mee in town, at least the most UNIQUE! A must try for all curry mee lovers! We always order the mixed noodle with thick and vermicelli. What makes them special other than their flavour is their signature dipping sauce. We always order the meat separate so we can dip copiously in that incredible dipping sauce. You can also order some extra beansprout which adds a nice crunch to the entire experience.

After a two-year hiatus thanks to the pandemic, their quality is just as good as when I last visited in 2020 and still the best curry mee (no coconut milk curry) in town! Let me save you some time with the menu and keep you out of hot water with the boss lady! We never order "A" because they mix the meat in with the noodles which makes it pretty much the same as any other curry mee in town other than the fact their soup does not have coconut milk. What you want to do is order "B" for one person or "C" for two people because they separate the meat from the noodles and you get their ever so precious and highly coveted dipping sauce! This is what really separates them from the rest of the field.

In terms of noodle, they offer three types, ho fun, egg noodle and vermicelli. My go-to is always a mixture of noodle and vermicelli. If you have read this review and are going in prepared and can order quickly and confidently, you should be able to avoid any inpatience from the boss lady! Lol! 🤣

In all honesty, they only really serve one dish and if you are not reading the menu outside while you are waiting (you are guaranteed to wait. It only depends how long!) That is what gets her all fired up. So... Having read this... go in there with confidence and order "B" with noodle and vermicelli mix like a star!...

究竟有多大的寃恨,让你上门吃碗咖喱麵变成去付钱乞丐将求吃,到底也只不过是碗麵,但店长把自己当成了皇帝老子了 been many eatery of a century old but have not been a place where the owner has such mean attitude curry mee ok so so, n after all is just curry mee i dont understand of why they have to put themselves so high n rude to their customer rules n regulation being written clearly b4 u enter, but long waiting time outside the shop n rude as u order, aft order again long waiting for yr food

penang melaka have many old shop n proud of their food but having principle and having an bad attitude still can tell is difference, after being rude and offensive while ordering, long waiting for food, n not yet finish their release guess n ask to stand beside ur table to rush u off, my next table is a datuk with his family, fr their conversation seem they knew each other as local yet they were being chase away the same way

it look like the are more focus on local customer and very despite of tourist, having very high up attitude to those who came aft their food being an old shop, saying you r one century in serv but never improve in any way, long q outside, offensive and rigid, and such way to put off your customer who gave u business, aft all is only curry mee

if you are looking for a good time to having meal this place is not suitable, hot n humid n rude

for this time i regret this breakfast that almost spoil the day, i could have spend the time and effort else where and have positive energy for return, sorry for ipoh to have such sinky...

Came here on Wednesday 9.30am. Fortunately, managed to enter the store without queuing.

I’m a first timer, but definitely please read the other reviews to adjust expectation’s and definitely this place is not for fussy eaters. ⚠️BEWARE, ORDER FAST, EAT FAST AND ZAO.

You do have to park your car away from the store, but alternatively just take a grab because it makes more sense and save the trouble.

Taste-wise: ermagawwwd sooo good. We are a group of 3. So we ordered Set C to simplify, specifying soup curry mee and dry curry mee. Personally, I enjoyed the dry curry mee more.

I also ordered egg toast 蛋兹 along with kopi Peng, kopi o siew dai and barley peng. I’m so impressed with the kopi. They did even not allow a spillage on the plate. Not many drink makers do it carefully anymore.

Also⚠️ There’s an option to choose between 4 bases and 3 noodles. There’s no pondering because lady boss will come in 1min.

Also, drink& toast ordering is a different management and noodle is different management. So they will surround you and collect money separately.

Overall, I personally enjoyed the experience because from where I’m from this is rarely experienced. Honestly, I love it because it’s so fuss-free and along the way there’s also other coffee shops to explore, pastry stores.

It’s time saving for me, but if you are the type to eat and chat over a meal....

Nine of us arrived at 11 am on a Sunday (not a long weekend). Got the food after 15 minutes of queuing outside and another 20 minutes of waiting inside. Drinks took awhile to arrive too. Price: RM5.50 (normal) + RM1 (extra noodles) + RM 1.50 (extra meat) The uncle who took our order for food kept getting mixed up because he refused to write it down. Later he informed us that they'd run out of hor fun. We ended up all having the same thing... And what a disappointment it was. :( Such a measly amount of meat. NO PRAWNS. No extra chilli paste. Not even a slice of lime. When asked, the uncle bluntly said that there was extra meat and insisted on RM7 per bowl. The noodles were good actually. Not too spicy. Predominantly salty. The curry was not watery nor too thick although it did seem oily (might just be chill oil). In fact, I'd go back to have curry hor fun with the meat served on the side. Only I'd go earlier in the morning and not on a Sunday. Edit: Went back a second time on a weekday when there was less crowd. Managed to get a bowl of the "ingredients" served separately. Still the service slow and felt that the food was pricey.

Xin Quan Fang is a well-known spot in Ipoh, Malaysia, famous for its curry noodles. Located at Jalan Sultan Iskandar. The famous restaurant offers a nostalgic ambiance with a simple, no-frills setting, typical of local eateries with a rich heritage. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the curry mee, which is served with a robust, flavorful broth that balances spiciness with a hint of sweetness from the spices. The noodles come with generous toppings like char siew (BBQ pork), chicken, and tofu puffs, adding a delightful mix of textures. The garlic sambal, a chili-based condiment, adds an extra kick if you prefer more heat. Service is generally quick and efficient, though it can be a bit hectic during peak hours, as the place is quite popular among locals and tourists alike. One thing to note is that the restaurant's seating can be limited, so it's best to come early to avoid the crowd. Overall, Xin Quan Fang is a must-visit for food lovers looking to experience authentic Ipoh-style curry noodles, offering both quality and a bit of local charm.
