What a fabulous dinner we just enjoyed! We decided to visit an old favorite that is famous for their great food and incredible price! Of course we had to order their signature dish which was the highlight of the evening! Fried pork belly with soya sauce is truly a remarkable dish. We savoured every last bite! Along with the stir fried veggies, steamed egg and soup, it was a DELICIOUS and extremely well priced meal.
To be honest, we were lucky as we came without reservations and the restaurant was at capacity. We snuck into the last table but reservations are highly recommended! Staff news friendly and service was fast and efficient. You can see that everybody including the boss lady is working hard to make sure that everybody is enjoying their dinner and having a great time! Already looking forward to our next visit to try some of the other dishes on the menu.
Back in town again and our first meal here at Restaurant Ipoh. Showed up again without reservations and luckily got a table as some diners were just finishing their meal! Considering how busy this place is, reservations are definitely recommended!
Tonight's dinner was truly exceptional. Although we only ordered simple dishes like their signature stir fry pork, steamed eggs three-ways and belacan stir fry vegetables, you can tell at the chef has years of experience in the kitchen as all of the dishes were prepared to absolute perfection and...
Read moreFound this restaurant from google map and decided on dinner there after reading its good reviews. Walk from Excelsior hotel took 15 mins. Reached about 730pm and the place was already packed to the brim. Was assigned a table after waiting for a few mins. Ordered 3 dishes and pot of chrysanthemums tea . Was warned by the server that it would be a long wait and indeed it was. Waited close to 45 mins before dinner was served. No regrets for the wait. The marmite chicken was juicy and tender. The broccoli and prawn cooked in oyster sauce was tasty, and the fuyong egg omelette had that wok taste. The dishes has that old school contonese taste which brought back fond memories of my mum cooking. All 3 dishes were small sizes, just the right portion of 2 pax. Everything for just RM$43 is a great way to end a tiring day.
Updated 28Dec24: Third time here and the food is still so gooood!! Had the wet Hor Fun, HK Gailan, beancurd tofu and sweet sour chicken. Wahhh…the hor fun had that wok taste and smell that is so hard to find these days. Everything taste so good. All...
Read moreBad service. We have called on ahead to check with the restaurant if we can make a booking for 40pax for a 7pm dinner on 24 or 25 Oct, and they said they prefer to accommodate us on 24 Oct. When we asked for the menu over Whatsapp, they say the menu is already in picture form on Google map, and that version is the ‘latest’. Only when we make the orders over the phone did they say, ‘oh actually we have a version with large dishes.’ When we inquire about the price for those, we can evidently hear them using a calculator
After confirming the menu with them just now around 9pm, they called back within 15 minutes and said they have to move our slot to 5pm instead. Reason being 7pm is their golden hour and they are not earning that much from us as we will be taking up too much of their space to make it worthwhile. The attitude of the lady (believed to be the lady boss) is so bad that she said our choice ONLY 5pm as that is the time they start operation.
Won’t ever come to this shop, all 40 of us. If there is an option of 0 star, I will definitely rate it a...
