Just arrived in Ipoh and had my first proper Chinese meal. The hand-shredded chicken was great—full of flavor. The hot and sour shredded potatoes were a nice surprise. I usually prefer a stronger sweet and sour kick, but this was still way better than what I’ve had in Melbourne. The braised pork belly was decent, but it would’ve been even better if the sauce was thicker and more concentrated. Exorbitant prices for what's essentially economy rice dishes. Super shady business tactics too - illusion of paying RM10 for a whole bowl of whatever dish you picked only to find the pretty looking white bowl is actually a facade. You're actually paying RM10 for an extremely shallow dim-sum plate worth of dishes.
