Review: Returning to a Familiar Spot in 2024
Having visited this restaurant over 20 times, I decided to revisit it in 2024 to see if things have changed. Here’s my updated review:
🌤 Atmosphere: 2/5 The open-air setup, equipped with fans, offers decent spacing between tables, which is a plus. However, the airflow is poor, and even before noon, the place feels warm despite the fans. It’s best to visit during cooler hours.
🍲 Food: 2/5 (2024) The quality has noticeably declined. We ordered the Chee Chang, but it came with a large portion of fatty, oily cuts, which was disappointing and cost the dish a point.
🍲 Food: 3/5 (Before 2024) Previously, the food was more enjoyable. The broth was aromatic with strong herbal notes, but it was often served lukewarm, which detracted from the overall experience. Portions were acceptable but not outstanding.
🍴 Service: 2/5 (2024) Service has improved this year. A quick wave to the staff resulted in immediate attention, which was a welcome change from the past.
🍴 Service: 2/5 (Before 2024) The staff used to be inattentive, and I often had to walk up to them for requests. Although the dishes were served quickly (within 5 minutes), the experience felt impersonal, as most of the staff were foreign workers.
💰 Price: 2/5 The price remains high at RM19 per person, which doesn’t feel justified given the inconsistent food quality.
🚗 Parking: 3/5 Parking depends on the timing. Arriving early or late ensures availability, but lunchtime and dinner hours are challenging. Alternatively, parking in the housing area behind the restaurant is an option.
🏠 Will I Come Again? 50/50 The restaurant’s strengths lie in its herbal soup and convenience, but the small portion sizes and fluctuating quality make it a mixed experience. Better alternative in petaling Jaya than drive all the way to Klang to have BKT

Read moreYesterday morning at around 12 noon my 2 friends n I went to this restaurant for bak kut teh. We wanted a healthy , wholesome n yummy pork meal with white rice as we were too lazy to cook that day. We have often heard of this place from our colleagues n friends living around this area but we didn't make it a point to come here for food. Until yesterday we made up our minds to come n try the bak kut teh here. We ordered 3 pax of bak kut teh - a pax of meaty pork ribs for myself , a pax of pork knuckle, n a pax of pork meat . We had white rice n a pot of Chinese tea to go with our food. The herbal soup was full of flavour , yummy n soothing to our tummy. We could eat plenty of rice with just the yummy soup. The pork meat was just as flavourful n very soft n tender. It was a good hearty lunch at a reasonable price. The boss was very chatty n friendly too. The only thing is the place has no air conditioning. That:s why the prices of the food were rather affordable. Once in a while, we don't mind without the air conditioning cos the quality n taste n price of the food can make up for the loss of comfort. A good meal at any time of the day- be it breakfast,...
Read moreThis morning I drove to this place to buy takeaway lunch . We wanted to eat rice with bak kut teh cos it has been ages since we last ate this family favorite food. We always get this delicacy from this restaurant if not , my brother would get it from Klang as well. As this is nearer to us, we prefer to buy from here. Some early birds were having their brunch there already n they were occupying some tables there. I went in to order 2pax of bak kut teh. The boss chop the pork for me. I requested for a pax of pork n another pax of meaty pork ribs. The bill came to RM 40 . This is quite reasonable compared to eating Shake Shack burgers. I’m now at home enjoying my bak kut teh lunch with rice. The flavour is just right n the soup is fragrant n tasty- really yummy cos it goes very well with steamed white rice. The pork is juicy n the pork ribs are tender n juicy with plenty of meat. What a heavenly lunch. My whole family loves this bak kut teh. Will eat...
