Passing by the shop quite often, everytime I was thinking to give a try, and I call myself a banana leaf connoisseur coz that much I used to eat a lot. But I was mostly full for lunch time with other food I had just by then, also I never like to eat banana leaf outside lunch time. That said, the time came for me to try via foodpanda for the lunchtime at home. I ordered the two sets, one for biryani set with chicken, the other is ordinary steamed rice, just vege set. Anyway, the cost for 2 sets nearly rm 40. Pretty crazy price for just 2 sets. But I had hope to enjoy the food. But it turned out to be utter disaster and pretty horrible in quality. First, the ayam varuval(is it?) is completely a joke, not edible single piece in it, just all bones and gristle otherwise, which are half submerged in the bed of oil. How do they pack such nasty stuff to customers and do they believe the bones are edible for anyone to chew? Again, super greasy and tasteless, I don't find any varubal flavour since red oil covered all other spices if any. My hands are covered in just red oil. So let down banana leaf ever! Second worse is the bitter gourd, which I found it super soggy, and again way too greasy, I literally see oil ooze out if you press the deep fried bitter gourd tangled all around. So horrible! After all these food, I had to clean my stomach to remove any trace of oil in it with a gallon of pure water. If it weren't for water, I would not have recovered from the shocking experience and food sickness for a while. The cucumber salad is way too sweet to my liking that's why lots of juice running out all over my plate when I started eating, whereas some would prefer the sweeter side. The daal is the only edible one for me to thumbs up at most, but so tiny portion even the special curry I chose. As we ordered two sets, they should have provided two sets each for 2 people, there aren't enough for the daal, special curry, or rasam is it? Again, I typically seldom leave negative comments for most food, as long as I can still bite, chew, swallow or digest to some extent. But this time for this price I paid for, is completely waste of my money and made me so let down, unsettled,... Regardless to say, it's not worth a penny for just oil DRIPPING inedible chicken bones and gristle, oil drenched bitter gourd. I hope they serve really edible food that being said, make them with less oil, less bones! Use more mother nature ingredients! I might put my YouTube video...
Read moreWish there's a 0 star option, I'd give a 0 star without hesitation. Pls train your staff well particularly the Indian Lady, pay some respect to your customer. Went to the restaurant for late dinner, brought 2 friends of mine with me, both of them had light dinner earlier. So I ordered a banana leaf carving set, and both of them ordered a side dish for themself (fried chicken, as they had light dinner and the banana leaf set seems to be a lil heavy for em). Our foods came, so my friends want to try n see how the rice set taste, so they took a spoon of it just to try, yes just 1 spoon. So when I finished with my craving set, I request to refill, then the malay waitress saw me and brought the dishes, rdy to refill for me, but then this Indian Lady called her and stopped her. I wasn't quite sure what was happening as my request isn't filled and the malay waitress was standing at the corner looking at me. (She saw me, I was trying to request for refill agn and she just responded by shaking his head). After trying to ask to refill for the 3rd times, the Indian Lady finally came to our table and told me :" I saw you sharing foods, you're not allowed to refill." I tried to explain to her that my friend just took 1 spoon of it and that's it. She heard it but still insisted not to refill for us. In the end I ordered another craving set just to get the my refill. Yes I know the purpose of you not allowing your customer shares food. But please be clear about the intention. We are not intended to "save money" by ordering one carving set and share by 3 person, my friend did ordered two sides for them, and they just took one spoon of my carving set just to give it a try and that's it. Is this how you treat your customer? Money comes first before customer?? Yes the food taste ok, but we will def not be paying another visit agn. Respect your customer and know what you doing and...

Craving Set White rice served with mixed gravy of your choice (curry, dhal), fried gourd and papadom on banana leaf. The meal don't include meat. If want, need to include the add-on side dishes (like ayam goreng berempah, buttered chicken, fried mackerel etc) when order. The rice meal with the mixed gravy taste pretty good and the fried gourd is quite crunchy. Papadom is delicious and the thin texture is easy to chew
Ayam Goreng Berempah Hot when first arrived and taste delicious, rich spice flavor. At first, the portion seems smaller than expected but it's actually just the chicken have been cut into smaller pieces. It's not boneless pieces btw.
THE GOOD : • The restaurant is clean and has unique interior decor • Good service by the staffs and foods get delivered fairly quickly • Food price is fairly reasonable • Food taste quite good and meal portion overall is very satisfying • Payment can be made via cash, cards and e-wallet (QR code scanned by the POS machine) • Not crowded, plenty of seating available • Very close to Surian MRT station
THE NOT-SO-GOOD : • Once added up more add-on side dishes, the total price can get high quickly • Drink price are quite steep • Menu price is not inclusive of tax and there's extra service charge of 10% (shown when receiving...
