A Perfect Post-Grocery Indulgence!
Date Visited: Monday, 3 March 2025
My wife Sally and I decided to treat ourselves to an early lunch at FeiFan Hotpot in Paradigm Mall, PJ, right after our weekly grocery run at Lotus Supermarket. As first-timers, we were thrilled by how seamlessly everything unfolded!
The Meal: We opted for the Classic Homemade Set (Hong Kong-style hotpot), which included 12 items featuring tender chicken and pork as our proteins. The broth upgrade was a game-changer—we swapped one base for the rich Pork Bone Soup and the soothing Herbal Soup (think aromatic ginger and goji berries). The split pot kept our taste buds dancing between hearty and wholesome flavors.
Service & Speed: The staff were warm and lightning-fast—our table was prepped with the set in under 10 minutes! No awkward waiting around, just instant hotpot happiness.
DIY Fun: We loved customizing our meal further at the buffet bar, grabbing extras like fresh veggies and mushrooms. The sauce station was a highlight: Sally followed the oulet recommended 5-mix (dry shrimp chilly sauce +fried scallons+fermented bean curd paste sauce+ cilantro+chopped spring onions), while I went rogue with chili oil and soy for a spicy kick. The self-serve ice lemon teh from the dispenser was a refreshing touch—ideal for balancing the broths’ boldness.
Efficiency & Affordability: Cooking in batches kept the experience relaxed yet efficient. Within an hour, we were happily stuffed with zero waste—a win for mindful dining! The three soft-serve ice cream flavours (matcha, vanilla, and chocolate) with a good selection of toppings. Total damage? Surprisingly affordable for the quality and variety.
Final Thoughts: As we drove home, we agreed this outing topped many of our past hotpot/steamboat adventures. FeiFan nails the balance of flavour, speed, and value. Perfect for grocery-day pitstops or casual catch-ups!
Pro Tip: Go early to avoid crowds, and don’t skip the broth upgrades. Paradigm Mall’s FeiFan is now our go-to for fuss-free, flavourful comfort food.

I recently dined at this establishment and found the experience to be a mix of positives and areas that could use some refinement.
Upon arrival, the waiter’s explanation of the menu was somewhat unclear. The pricing structure is tiered, with different rates for weekdays and weekends. Diners can opt for the basic selection or upgrade to premium meats (RM80+) or seafood (RM130+). However, the process of upgrading wasn’t explained thoroughly.
Once your choice is confirmed, the waiter inputs it into their system and provides a QR code for ordering. Unfortunately, the web interface is not very user-friendly, and the ordering process can be confusing. Despite this, I managed to place my order successfully.
The variety of soups is extensive, ranging from mild to very spicy, and you can select up to three soups in a divided pot. However, I was not informed that some soups come with additional charges, which I only discovered when reviewing the bill.
The food itself arrived promptly and was quite fresh, although the overall selection was somewhat limited compared to other similar venues. There is a self-service counter near the entrance offering soft drinks, tea, water, and a range of finger foods and vegetables. Additionally, the QR menu includes paid beverage options.
The service was pleasant, and the staff were attentive. On several occasions, when a waiter was in my path, they courteously stepped aside and bowed, allowing me to pass. This level of politeness added a nice touch to the experience.
While the variety of dishes could be expanded and the ordering process improved, I appreciated the overall service and food quality. I would certainly consider returning, but with tempered...
Read moreWould give 0 stars for service if i could. We were here for the birthday promotion (read about it online and we even read the T&Cs- we complied with all the T&Cs listed on the website) and we even called in advance to book a table and expressly informed them about wanting to have the birthday promotion and they didnt say anything and didnt mention any T&Cs. They gave us a few buffet set options and so we chose and ordered. But when it was time for payment, only then they informed us that the birthday promotion didnt apply to the buffet set we ordered and the birthday promo was only applicable to the other buffet set 🤦♀️ we ended up paying full price for 4 pax without the birthday promo (eventhough we have complied with all the T&Cs listed in the website) and the website T&C didnt even mention that the birthday promo is only applicable to the other buffet set! And it was so disappointing that when we informed about wanting to claim the birthday promo before ordering, nobody told us that the promo was only applicable to the other buffet set! Very disappointed with...
