Roasted duck and roasted chicken were good, though roasted duck was slightly overcooked, meat was tough and sticky. Char Siew was good, will suggest sweet sauce on the side instead of pouring on the meat, it is too sweet to my taste, but the meat was not too fat nor lean, it was tender and juicy. Roasted pork is not recommended, way too salty and may be leave hanging for too long, skin isn't crispy and can feel the 'aging' meat not fresh kind of feeling. I can see at least 6 to 8 air con but only turned on 2 or so, plus rear side door was opened widely and the crowd, it was extremely hot in the shop. I am not sure why all the air con was not turned on, if air con not available for next visit, I will not try again. Hygiene wise, at least toilet wasn't smelly and wet floor. Table and utensil weren't oily. One thing is, I will advise to leave these silverwares and chopsticks in a container or box that has cover to avoid dust and other contamination. Pricing wise, one whole kampong steamed chicken is RM83, a bit pricey; 1 whole roasted chicken / duck are RM83 each. We ordered half roasted chicken, half roasted duck, 1 medium char Siew RM36, 2 small ipoh bean sprouts RM6 each, 1 sour and hot veggies, 1 pot of Chinese tea, 4 small portion dry noodle though portion really small, noodle was chewie and tasty, all these bring total bill to RM160+ all in. Over service is alright, responsive and friendly, judge by their business volume and crowd when I was there on Sunday lunchtime. The biggest issue I have with this restaurant is hot temparature that because of lack of air con turned on when I was there. Lastly, parking really not enough around the restaurant, will suggest to park further at subway shop walk around 10 mins to restaurant, of course, if you have children and elders, you might want to reconsider to other better dining atmosphere air conditioned and parking...

One can make good roast chicken but not char siew or roast pork belly, those who make good char siew somehow can't get their toast pork belly right. You get the idea... Please enlighten me on where the seller get everything right ok? 🙏🏻
One can find roasted meat stall almost everywhere he/she goes - in fact, it is probably the fastest stall to be taken up if there's a hawker style restaurant opens up. It is one of the fastest moving food in any restaurant that you go. For me, I prefer convenience than purposely making a trip just to savour my choice of roasted meat.
As I am always in Kota Damansara area, I would not miss any new restaurant opening for business. Gen Don is actually few years old but it took me recently to be able to post this up. Located along the quieter row of the bustling Dataran Sunway area, they have since established themselves as one of the place for roasted meat. I'd come here several times actually... The portion was generous, ordering system pretty straight forward and fast too.
◾3 Combinations - I tried their roasted duck, pork belly and char siew and found that all of them tasted above average.. the roasted duck has this nice herbal taste, crispy skin and tender meat; char siew was caramelised well (still prefer Toast N Roast but this was commendable); and the siew yuk has this crackling skin. ◾Wantan noodle - the portion itself could easily feed two kids (or even 2 small eaters). They used pork lard and oil resulting in the aromatic flavour. ◾Chai boey aka spicy & sour vegetable - I enjoyed this dish so much. ◾pork ball soup ◾Braised taufu
They get most of the roasted meat right... Not necessarily the best in business but more of a convenience, this restaurant has become my to-go place whenever I'm...
Read moreI'm a weekly regular customer since they opened. Went to tapau coz of MCO n as usual I always asked for extra chili which was given in sealed plastic packets. I thought I'd save them the plastics and the environment n brought my own small plastic container this time for the chili. (I use Tiffin carrier all the time too). So after I asked the worker n went to pour the chili, the boss saw and wanted RM1 for it. Ok, want to be so calculative... What abt the chopsticks, plastic spoons, and plastic takeaway boxes I saved for u when I use my own Tiffin carrier and declined. RM1 is nothing but in terms of principle, I declined and was made to pour back the chili. So the logic here is they will give FOC when they give out their own sealed packets but charge when they see you bring your own container? Why don't you charge for a Tiffin carrier fee too? Left and decided that I'm not...
