Whatever you order, dont forget to order the Cromboloni!!
We had passed by this cafe for countless of times, as my wife regularly send her packages to the courier service next door. But she had always informed me that this outlet was a mamak shop!! Until recently...It took Daniel to point out to her that it is really a cool cafe, serving fusion foods..
So, one day, the three of us decided to pay this cafe a visit. The interior setting and atmosphere was quite a surprise to us. As we entered, there was a children play corner, which would really come in handy if you brought along some young children. The huge red roses stood out right in the middle of the cafe, and automatically my wife chose the table right next to it. The decor was quite soothing to my eyes, and some customers were seen working on their laptops.
My wife quickly ordered the Buttermilk Chicken with Rice, and she enjoyed it very much. I was ushered by Daniel to try the Omu Rice with Chicken Katsu. I liked the chicken, but the japanese curry was really an acquired taste. The japanese rice was not as soft and flavorful as the ones I had in Japan, but still passable to me.
Daniel decided to have just the Cromboloni, and it turned out to be the winner of the day!! And all of us shared this amazingly delicious treat..Daniel, being the adventurous one, also tried the fancy Handbag Latte, which was basically some coffee served in a fancy handbag looking porcelain, with a separate cup of milk placed next to it..so fancy smancy, but I hope it...
Read moreThis is a great little gem of a restaurant in this neighbourhood! They are surprisingly quite quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Menu had a lot of interesting items and choices, it was very hard to make a decision! They also have a fridge full of delicious looking cakes. We ordered a nasi aduk daging dendeng, nasi jepun daging rendang, and a chicken katsu masak lemak pasta. The food took quite a long time to arrive... it seemed like the kitchen takes some time to start up because they did not have any customers to start with. And it looks like a very small team managing this restaurant. But when the food arrived... my goodness it was good. The portions were enormous. Everything tasted great. The masak lemak sauce was rich and flavorful. The daging dendeng was moist, tender and well seasoned, but not too spicy. Same with the sambal and rendang. Really no complaints at all. Food is also reasonably priced. Very happy with our experience here. It is a strange thing indeed why are they not more popular! Please come and support them. Staff here were so nice and kind too. We were so full we did not have room for dessert as we were not expecting such large portions of food. Will have to come back to try their cakes...
Read moreThey have interesting menu options unfortunately it's not nice - at least not to my taste. It has fusion menu, Japanese with local taste but the taste is neither, not Japanese not local, the dishes have no identity. Even the interior setting is lost. Its modern but but vintage but they have beach umbrella. Even the songs played don't blend in with the setting and the food. The waiter/waitress don't come to take orders. I mean for the price we're paying, have at least a QR code and someone to serve the table. Need to train the workers or at least have SOP. I'm sure they will follow. To me the whole place is confused. The plus points are probably the desserts. We tried the cromboloni and the cheesecake. Cheesecake could do with some improvement but the cromboloni is okay. Kalau orang Melayu kata, rasa tak sampai. Parking basement is very narrow, so be...
