Service was super slow. We came about 3pm. Past rush hour. The moment I stepped in the was only 2 other tables occupied. 1 just got their food and the other 1 was still looking thru the menu. I have to call the waitress to get the menu card.
After decided our menu and ordered, the real waiting game started. 5 people in the kitchen. They do more talking than cooking. Waited 45 minutes to get 2 plates of rice, 2 pieces of kampung fried chicken, 1 bowl of masak lemak daging salai and 1 telur dadar when the chicken is already marinated, the gulai lemak paste were ready, no need pound the tumeric and chilli, just mix with coconut milk and put on the stove. 1 person taking out the coconut milk from the box, cut to open, the other 4 was looking at him 🤷♀️
We seated at the nearest table to the kitchen and see everything very clearly through the service window.
Taste wise, kampung fried chicken was extremely overcooked, very dry. It was more like kayu goreng than ayam goreng. Very tough. Masak lemak was so so. No doubt the beef was tender but the taste was nothing to shout about. Even if you are not from Negeri Sembilan and spicy food level is 4/10, this is not a place for you. Telur dadar was the saviour I would say.
Price wise 2/5. Considering the taste of the food and quality of service, it is totally not worth of money.
Anyway, the drink station was great. Service was fast and good.
Ohhh.. they need to change their water tap at the hand washing basin... the staff have to help to turn, press and hold onto the tap only then the water will come out, very slowly 🐌

Read moreOne of the rare times a viral post led me to a restaurant serving legit delicious meals. The interior does give a kampung vibe, but equipped with air conditioning and enough ventilation so it was very comfortable for us.
Even though we reached there soon after their opening hours, the place was already almost half full. The staff was quick to serve and very efficient.
We ordered the full set as recommended and were happy with the selection. They serve one of the best (if not the best) daging salai I've ever had. The meat was succulent and the smokey element elevated the flavor, the dish was easily the star of the show. I like my food spicy, so it really ticked the box for me, but not recommended for non spicy eaters.
Another item on the menu that I really enjoyed, that's not as common in other restaurants is the air jagung vanilla. Not sure what they added, but the drink was good both as a drink and a dessert. We even ordered extra cuz of how good it was. Very filling and refreshing at the same time.
The set we chose was for 3-4 people, but the portion was extremely generous especially for us because we're not big eaters. The set comes complete with the desserts and by the time we concluded our meal, we felt like happy pythons after a satisfying meal.
The only thing I'd hope for improvement was their ulam and the sambal. The ulam did not look or taste fresh so that was a bit of a letdown.
Would definitely repeat our visit if possible, perhaps we'd order individual dishes next time. Hope they maintain or even add on more scrumptious meals...
Read moreHad iftar with my family at Kampunglah Kota Damansara yesterday. We decided to pray at home first, so we arrived around 8:30 PM. We ordered Itik Salai Masak Lemak, a set of ulam with Ikan Siakap Masak Sambal Tumis Merah. The portion was listed for 3–4 pax, but honestly, it could easily feed 5! While waiting for our food, they gave us rojak buah to munch. While the price is on the higher side, the portion size and quality make it worth it. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and really delivered that authentic kampung taste and vibe. The Itik Salai Masak Lemak was flavorful, though the duck wasn’t as tender as expected. Same with the ayam kampung—it needed a bit more time to soften. But overall, the taste was amazing. Definitely a great spot for a special meal with family or friends.
I made a reservation via WhatsApp, but the response was quite slow, so I had to call them instead. They did secure a table for us, though. It might be because we came late, outside of the peak iftar session. If you're booking for iftar, note that they require a deposit to confirm your reservation.
Parking was easy, and overall, it was a heartwarming dining experience. Would definitely consider coming back for...
