The noodle texture is great but might be subjective to preference. It has a bouncy, stretchy and elastic pull to it. Definitely find it addictive and will come back to try other options.
Ordered the sesame sauce version this round. It's not bad but I personally think there are too much dried shrimps and too little coriander given. The flavours are great when all the ingredients are eaten together. But without coriander, it is relatively flat. I could definitely sacrifice some dried shrimps in exchange for more coriander. That would keep the flavour on point.
The set comes with these Chinese wine chicken pan fried buns and they're great! Both the flavour and the skin. On point as well! Just the soup with fish ball has got some room to improve.
What I really appreciated was the tea options. It's my first time spotting Jin Jun Mei served at an eatery. It's a complex black tea that resembles a bit of herbal tea flavours. Although the appearance looks humble and the tea is a bit diluted, for its price, it is definitely nothing to complain about. Ala carte, the tea is only RM2.90.
Service is rather sweet because after we were done with our meal, they served us two small cups of Glutinous Puer and those were great too (similarly, a bit diluted but great tea notes).
The design of the place and the diningware definitely increases the experience of eating here. Overall, meal price is very reasonable. Many reasons to return. Menu is diverse and unique pairings. If they didn't call it pan mee, the flavour experience gives value faring up to restaurants like Dragon-i (but only at a fraction of the price). Sorry I couldn't think of a better comparison 🤣 But this really depends on...

We ordered the traditional soup pan mee, vinegar pork trotter rice and fried dumpling.
The pan mee was great - the texture of the noodle was soooo smooth and had a nice bite. Some places make it smooth but end up being too soft. The soup was flavourful but on the lighter side - meaning you don't feel thirsty after the meal. I love the sambal belacan that came with the pan mee - generous with the belacan. If you want something with more kick, their signature chilli will do that for you.
The vinegar pork trotter was good but I felt it was the sweeter side. I'm fine with that since some places go way too crazy with the vinegar. The best part was actually the ginger - done in the proper way where it was fried with sesame oil.
The dumpling was amazing! They were incredibly generous with the dumpling filling and it wasn't oily. We also tried the ginger wine bun - the texture was soft and ginger wine was fragrant.
They also had 糯米香茶 - it was so fragrant and great to wash down the meal.
Eager to come back again to try other stuff...

The 1st few mouth also give that sense of “not your regular common chilli pan mee” dish. The greasyness starts to kicks in half way in. My wife ordered the cheesy prawn, which they also gave a very generous amount of cheese & 3 big fresh prawns, sadly, also suffered frm the greasy-ness after few mouth. I would give them another try with other choices. But do hope that they really try to reduce the amount of oil. My immediate thought during dining was I need to jog it off right after…. I dining environment is cozy n nice, price are also rather justified given the setting n decent food placement n unique taste. It would be slight better if they could maybe give more than that 2 fish balls for the pan mee. Just the cucumber, coriander, nuts & anchovies seems rather dry…. I acknowledge, the fish balls are also not the common factory frozen fish balls Ohh… n their shop address shud be Damansara Kim, not Damansara Utama. It’s two different places Their facebook/insta postings shows...
