Came here several times now, on various days+at different timings, there's normally an available table or two, and quite a lot of people walking in and out for takeaway.
Interior+ambience is 3/5⭐️ for me, it's clean, spacious enough between tables, cute decor here+there but average overall, there's nothing special about the interior in my opinion. There's normally some music playing very lightly so it doesn't interrupt conversation. The toilet could be maintained better.
Drinks ☕️: Lime Ade (Carbonated) less ice had strong zesty flavor (I saw the staff making it, he used 2 medium limes to make it fresh, not from a bottle) 5⭐️ for me because I like strong sour flavors
Had the Passionfruit Ade (Carbonated) less ice before as well (no photo), it was quite sweet and slightly sour, no passionfruit bits in it, 3/5⭐️ as I'd prefer it to be more sour/have some passionfruit added into it especially for the price
Iced Caramel Latte (less ice), a pleasant mix of strong coffee taste and slight caramel syrup sweetness (coming from someone who doesn't drink strong coffee ya, so coffee lovers might need extra shot/a different drink choice) 4⭐️
Pastries/Cake 🥐🍰: I've tried 4 of their cruffins, multiple times and every time, the cruffins were crispy, beautifully flaky on the outside just like a good croissant, buttery on the inside and not dry at all. The staff cut the cruffin into half upon my request.
Lemon Curd Cruffin was crispy and flaky on the outside as mentioned, slightly airy and buttery inside, the curd was quite sour, not overwhelming, enough to taste the lemony flavor, the curd itself is light/more on the liquid side, the meringue on top doesn't have much taste, could maybe be improved so it has better texture to add onto the cruffin, 3⭐️ for me
Passionfruit Cruffin (no photo) was on the sweeter side, slight sourness, has passionfruit seeds in it, the little bits of meringue on top is also not very flavorful, the curd is not too watery, personally one of my favs from here so 4⭐️
Burnt Cheese Cruffin (no photo) wasn't burnt at all/didn't taste/resemble burnt cheesecake in any way, the filling was thicker like a creamy egg tart compared to the lemon/passionfruit curd cruffins, tasted like a lighter cheesecake, 2⭐️ for me
Matcha Cruffin (no photo) has a balanced taste of fragrant and slightly bitter matcha that's also sweetened (not too sweet, just nice), thicker consistency for the filling, a personal fav of mine 5⭐️
Strawberry Lychee Shortcake has light sponge layers+a good amount of light cream (not too sweet)+lots of strawberry and lychee pieces, fruit in every bite,...

The meeting was supposed to be at another cafe nearby but it wasn't meant to be because the initial destination wasn't opened (yet) for the day. A quick look around and I spotted this unassuming bakery few doors away from the more popular Universal Bakehouse.
What I like about this bakery is the fact that they are clean, tidy and organised. As with all bakeries, all the pastries, cakes and freshly baked products are displayed in the glass cabinet for easier pointing and choosing.
I ordered their coffee to gauge the quality first - decent but definitely above average for both their long black & flat white, something that is important for caffeine lovers like us - and everything just went uphill from there
◾Smoked salmon mushroom quiche - for someone who normally don't eat quiche, I was surprised on how quick she finished it. ◾Peri-peri cheese sardine - my favourite order of the lot.. love the spicy sardine filling inside the bun with crusty & crispy cheese layer on top. So good that I got myself a second helping. ◾Margherita focaccia - everything a classic Italian pizza has but on top of soft focaccia bun. I had to order it again when the young ones fought for it. ◾Spinach Danish - when the pickiest eater in the family finished it without any complaints, I knew that she liked it. ◾Other options - cruffin, croissant, cakes, etc... if you like a full blown breakfast, sandwiches or other items, they do have breakfast menu available.
I was informed by the manager that they bake all their products fresh everyday. Nothing beats something that come straight out of the oven. Their service team was quite attentive and...
Read moreMy first time here since the changed so I was happy to learn that they still have the apple tart so I asked for 3 slices. The staff asked me is it okay to combine them in one box but I said make it two boxes (2+1). She insisted that they can all fit into one box so I asked her to show me. She did show me but the box was still flat so I told her that once she fold the box, it’s gonna hit the crust. So she suggested a different approach - she’ll put a piece of paper and stack one slice on top of the other two. This is apple tart that we are talking about, the paper will stick on the apple since it was glazed (or something like that. I’m not sure what’s the correct term). I started to get annoyed but luckily another staff sensed my annoyance so he immediately took out another box. I was planning to buy some other pastries but judging from her attitude, I was afraid that she’ll stuff everything into one paper bag so I decided not to take the risk. Your price isn’t cheap so please ask the staff not to be too stingy with packaging especially when I’ve already helped to reduce/save one box instead of asking her to pack them...
