Oki Shokudo, tucked away in Damansara Kim, may be a hidden gem to some, but for a ramen lover like me, it fell short of expectations. I’ve tried countless ramen spots, this one lands in the “meh” category. The ramen broth, which should be the soul of the dish, lacked depth and flavour, shockingly bland for the price point. The noodles were soft, resembling something from a fast food chain rather than a specialist ramen shop.
What really disappointed me was the misleading sakura menu, which featured ramen in a pink broth. Naturally, I ordered it with wagyu beef. But when the bowl arrived, it was just a regular shoyu broth. Upon asking, the staff explained that only the scallop dish comes with the pink broth. Then why advertise it under the same banner? It's confusing and feels a bit like a bait-and-switch.
To be fair, the wagyu was tender and well-cooked, and the service was good by a friendly young lady, these are the only two saving grace. The donburi rice was decent, and the ice cream was passable. But as my daughter put it best: “It’s not bad, but it's not good.”
For the price, it’s definitely not worth it. There are far better ramen options nearby that deliver more authentic and satisfying experiences that offer richer broth, better texture, and better value for money.
Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to Oki Shokudo, once was enough. I still wonder about those glowing Google reviews. If I were to sum up my review, only one...
Read moreFinally tried the famous pink ramen!
Not only is it pretty in pink with its light, non-oily soymilk based fish broth naturally coloured with beetroot. There’s an option to have it with their chicken chashu or meatless option. 😍
Cousin to the pink ramen is the green midori ramen made from pesto and soy milk with similar condiments. 💚
I like how they serve their bibimbap with an onsen egg instead of the typical fried egg making it even tastier when mixing it altogether with the piquant homemade gochujang 🔥
You can also choose any 3 of their small bites as sides for just RM18 🤩
I was impressed with their tasty and healthy beverages especially both the black sesame paleo milk and matcha almond milk with red bean which is perfect with the meal 💯
wear something pink when you visit on Wednesday and tag them in your post for 31% off their signature pink ramen 😉

We ordered: Viral chasu pink ramen Wild Norwegian saba fish Edamame Chicken gyoza Oki hand cut fries Purple sweet potato latte Green tea
The viral pink broth ramen is delicious as rumoured. The soup is thick, and the noodles are chewy 🍜 The saba fish is fresh. Chicken gyoza is crunchy and comes in 3 pieces.
Our favourite side dish is the Oki Handcut Fries. It is a mix of sweet potato & tofu fries! Crunchy and not too oily, with a little of natural sweetness from the potato itself. A must to try!
The purple sweet potato latte has a delightful and unique taste.
What I love most is the service! The staff were so nice, friendly and considerate. I made a reservation but was going to be late. I informed the staff, and they allowed us to proceed with the reservation 🙏🏻🫶🏻 and immediately after we seated, the staff explained to us what is included in the eatigo promotion. The food was served quickly. It was a superb dining...
