Located at the concourse floor (CC) of Tropicana Gardens Mall @ Kota Damansara, the restaurant is made to exude an atmosphere like a traditional coffee shop.
The tables are the marble types with wooden chair accompanying to make the Nyonya coffee stall feel. The restaurant is clean and spaces between seats are sufficient. Apart from that it is a pretty simple layout.
The ordering can be done either via online system or an ordering chit. The online ordering system is annoying, asking for the phone number at the start and then later again, both of which I opt not to. Hence, I used the order chit. Service personnel is not very attentive, though quick if you get their attention.
The food is average. The dry wantan noodle has a couple of fried wantans at the side. Portion is average. Taste is average. The Nyonya curry noodle is slightly better. A few slices of chicken, some fish cakes, and noodles. The curry is good with average spiciness.
To be fair, as their restaurant name goes, its main feature is cendol. The cendol with gula Melaka (palm sugar), is pretty good. Not too sweet and refreshing. The balance of the cendol and red beans is good.
In summary, food is average but dessert is good. Service needs improvement and online ordering system...
Read moreWe ordered Premium Cendol with Gula Melaka, Dry Pan Mee and Fruit Rojak. Unfortunately the cendol does not at all look like the picture on the wall and menu. Even after stirring through, the colour barely changed, you cannot taste the gula melaka and frankly, you cannot tell whether there is gula melaka in this "premium cendol" which costed fifty cents more.
With regards to the dry pan mee, we were half through eating and found a fly, yes a black lalat. (We did not take a picture of it). The lady behind the counter came, calmly looked at the fly on the plate, unapologetically said she would replace it. We declined and she offered to pack it for us.
Our first experience at this place today and looks like we will not be going back nor would we recommend it to anyone. If you are craving for Pan Mee, suggest to go to the 3F Food Court, East Walk. Hygienic, tastes great with a scenic view of the golf course and no service...
Read moreHad my lunch here and i ordered a asam fish and also an ala cart white rice not knowing the asam fish already come with a rice.
When the order arrived i realized the fish comes with a white and so i told the waitress to cancel the white rice, before the waitress even put it on my table, and she refused saying the boss doesnt let the workers simply cancel, but i told her its not even on my table and i wont be able to finish the rice.
She then called the manager to the table and the manager said the same thing and afterward straight walked off with the rice in a very rude manner.
The boss should train the staff to be more friendly and understanding.
