The 5 stars for food is for the chee cheong fun cum fish balls cum dumplings cum yong tau foo stall. No photos as I always eat and forget the photos. Will try to remember the next time. The stall owner is obviously fastidious. He uses ceramics instead of plastics and this adds to the food experience. The huge fish balls remind me of the Teo Chew fish balls of days past. Big, springy and lovely to look at (like tau foo). Saucing is simple and adds but not subtracts from the taste and texture of the balls. The yong tau foo fillings is superb and is obviously the result of the same fish ball skill set. Dumplings come in two sizes, normal and humongous and all is good. The ccf are superb with various and creative saucing. I have returned numerous times and from great distance. As an added benefit, the char kway teow is excellent and is equal or better than Try...
Read moreWell known in this area for the Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun and Robert's Char Kuey Teow. Let's start with the CKT. Apparently the same with the Section 17 Robert's. Taste wise is not bad but what is lacking here is the wok hei. But taste wise is not bad. There's cockles and chinese sausage here. Seasoning is just adequate. Moderately spicy and salty. Next is the Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun and I tried the original version which is with lots of fried shallots, soya sauce and probably shallot oil. And that's it. Simple but tasty. The Cheong Fun is smooth. I personally find the soya sauce a bit salty with a hint of sweetness but then again, it's soya sauce. The highlight here is the Yong Tau Foo. Well made and tasty. Fried tofu and Fish Ball is a must try. Overall not bad but a bit pricey which is expected...
Read moreI still prefer this Robert's CKT stall, even though not the senior uncle frying. The young man also cooks very well. For me, I like my CKT without egg and extra spicy (with egg, I can't taste the 'Wok Hei').
some other CKT stall else where don't accept without egg order (I don't know the reason, maybe they lack skill??)
Been to many kopitiams to try the Penang Hokkien Mee so far this is the one I like the most. (flavour & taste almost same like penang style) The western breakfast too pricey. Robert's CKT also delicious (make sure Uncle the one to cook) can order without egg unlike other seller must order with egg 😒. Ice white coffee, ice milo & ice herbal tea RM9.50. The only problem is the...
