I wanna to express my dissatisfaction with the experience my friend and I had at iShin restaurant on February 24th. While we initially enjoyed the ambiance and were pleased with the environment, several incidents occurred that significantly marred our dining experience.
Disruptive Behavior and Unhygienic Practice A female customer seated at front of kaunta seki began playing loud with her phone and speaking loudly on a video call, showcasing a sashimi boat to her friend. To our shock, we later discovered that the sashimi boat belonged to another customer upstairs. This raises serious concerns about food hygiene and safety. Allowing a stranger to handle and display food intended for another customer is not only unprofessional but also highly unhygienic. This incident left us feeling disgusted and uncomfortable.
Noise Disturbance The same customer continued to play loud music, specifically the song "红尘滚滚...", which was extremely disruptive. We requested to be moved to a quieter area, but the noise persisted even after we were relocated to an upstairs room.
Poor Staff Response One of your employees, Chrisxxx responded to our concerns in an unprofessional manner. Despite wearing a mask, her dismissive attitude and glaring expression made us feel unwelcome. Her demeanor seemed to imply, "So what do you want us to do?" This lack of empathy and professionalism was deeply disappointing. Additionally, Chrisxxx mentioned that other customers had previously complained about the same disruptive individual. This raises questions about why no action was taken to address the issue earlier.
While your restaurant offers excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere, the lack of proper staff training and management oversight significantly detracted from our experience. We expected a higher standard of service, especially given the premium nature of your establishment.
I hope iShin will take this feedback seriously and address these issues to prevent similar incidents in the future. Proper staff training, better management of disruptive customers, and stricter food hygiene practices are essential to maintaining your restaurant's reputation.
Unfortunately, due to these issues, I cannot give a 5-star rating despite the quality...
Read moreWe visited this fine dining Japanese restaurant to celebrate a family member’s birthday, expecting an enjoyable and memorable experience. While most of the food was acceptable and the majority of the staff were professional and courteous, our evening was unfortunately marred by one staff member’s unacceptable behavior and an unresolved maintenance issue.
Shortly after being seated, we noticed water dripping from the ceiling onto our table. We politely informed our waitress, Christine (possibly misspelled), but she dismissed our concern without any empathy or effort to assist. Her indifferent and unprofessional attitude was particularly disappointing given the setting and the occasion. We then informed another staff member, who responded promptly and kindly helped us relocate to a different table. We truly appreciated their attentiveness. However, even at the new table, the dripping continued. We informed the staff again, and although they remained polite, the persistent leak clearly indicates a maintenance issue that should not exist in a restaurant of this caliber.
Later, after finishing our dish (katsu curry), we casually enquired about it with another waitress to provide some light feedback. She responded warmly and said she would inform the chef — a gesture we appreciated, as we were simply sharing thoughts, not complaining. However, shortly after, Christine suddenly approached us and said “咩嘢事” (“What’s the matter?” in Cantonese) in a sharp and dismissive tone. It seemed she had been informed by other staff, but her confrontational and inappropriate approach was shocking, especially in a fine dining environment.
Such behavior is unacceptable in any restaurant — let alone one that prides itself on fine dining. While we commend the rest of the team for their service and the kitchen for the excellent food, Christine’s dismissive and confrontational attitude, combined with the unresolved water leak, significantly diminished what should have been a joyful birthday celebration.
We hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both staff conduct and facility maintenance to uphold the standards expected of a fine dining...
Read moreWe had an amazing omakase experience here and opted for the RM688 set, and it was absolutely worth it! The portions were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied.
The sashimi was incredibly fresh and naturally sweet, with the tuna belly standing out—it was so buttery that it simply melted in our mouths. Every bite was a delight!
One of the highlights of the meal was the Wagyu beef wrap with foie gras, topped with uni and caviar. The foie gras was cooked to perfection, without any overpowering smell, and the uni was exceptionally sweet and fresh—honestly, the best uni we’ve ever had!
Even the dessert, a matcha pudding, was top-notch. Smooth, creamy, and packed with rich matcha flavor—it was the perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our omakase dinner and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. Can’t...
