Mohd Chan Dim Sum • Sunway Geo Avenue — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

we went there because the franchise was listed in the list for "best halal dim sum in kl". so we went there this morning. when we arrived at mohd chan sunway geo outlet, there were a few other patrons. we noticed immediately the unpleasant smell of floor poorly mopped. when we arrived the staffs were seated at a dining table minding us no heed. our selected table had the unpleasant odour too. table & menu list were sticky as well. despite our excitement to taste dim sum from this "one of the best halal dim sum ..." we were cautious not to over order items from the menu. so, to begin with, we ordered only a few items (enough to feed all 5 of us tho). items ordered were quickly served (👍) but the tastes were sooooo disappointing. we asked for phoenix feets - dry & tasteless. we ordered salted egg squid - wueeek! the salted egg taste was missing, and not properly cooked. the batter was overwhelmingly thick and not properly fried. the squid was undercook. we asked for kailan with garlic but the vegetables cooked in hospitals taste so much better than what we were served. we had chee chong fun but the skin was too thick so much so a rhinoceros would be put to shame. and, of course, was tasteless. we had nasi goreng - that was acceptable. we also had bbq noodles. tasteless! even the "cili kicap" we asked for could not save the bbq noodle. even the drinks were bland! my personal feelings : not going there ever again despite what others say. we cant brain why mohd chan sunway geo can be listed as "one of the best ..." i no longer trust such listings. another lesson learnt : order sikit² dulu utk rasa. if nice then follow up with additional orders. anyhow, i wasted time & money visiting this outlet today, 18/09/2022. i had to buy additional food n drinks for my family after. TAK BEST LANGSUNG ... dah la masa kita mintak cili kicap tu akak kedai tu punya muka!!! 🤦 ... cuka tak semasam muka akak tu. dia punya jeling ... fuuuuh!!! gunung berapi tak jadi meletus kena jelingan camtu. akhir kata, apa yang dikongsi adalah apa yang kami ber5 alami hari ni. maybe today was the "off" day for everybody in that outlet!!! again, thank you but we are not...

We are a Muslim family from China, went there for lunch as it's considered as one of the few Halal Chinese dim sum restaurants. Sadly the worst experience so far for our visit in Malaysia. The Malay lady was rather impatient or even rude, no one in my family speaks English but me, I went for parking, by the time I arrived the restaurant, my wife was struggling to explain to the lady the mobile ordering page didn't match the virtual menu, and the lady already lost her patience. I asked for extra plates, she walked away with a nodding and then simply ignored. When she served the food, I could clearly see the despise in her eyes and on her face, I left the table to confront her but wife pulled me back worrying I may ruin the lunch. As for food, we ordered almost all the recommended 👍dishes on the menu, the dim sum and bau are indeed tasty, but all the other dishes were too salty, the curry mee, claypot chicken, chicken wings,...

We ordered Set C (2–3 pax) which includes Butter Prawn, Baby Kailan with Oyster Sauce and a delicious Tom Yam Seafood Soup all for just RM78.80.

Totally worth it!

The food was flavourful, fresh and perfectly portioned for three people. Plus, it came with rice and a free jug of Ice Lemon Tea (refillable for just RM1.50!).

Special shoutout to Rejaul our waiter, who gave us excellent service throughout — super friendly and attentive! As a sweet bonus, we even received a free pudding as a thank-you for leaving a review 😊
