I was there for a 4D3N stay arriving last Thursday. Made my booking through the Sales Department. Prior to my arrival I read the details in the website and all the reviews since it opened about 8 months ago. A great Sanctuary to come to with the concept of Wellness that is imbedded with the elements of Mind, Body & Spirit. Not forgetting the Confinement Centre. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by Mr. Ryan with a friendly smile at the reception. I headed to my room thereafter. Hence my comments are purely based on its website, reviews and hospitality concept of such setting. Not knowing what to do next, the ever hospitable Mr.Ryan came to my room and explain the facilities on the 19th and 20th floor of Sunway Sanctuary(SS). I then dine at the restaurant and the GM, Mr.Leonard came after and we had a nice chat on the industry we are in. I then had to orientate myself on the 19th and 20th floor and to plan my own program besides the daily activities that is reflected on the panel on the 19th floor. Not knowing what other floors are. Next day during breakfast a nice gentleman from Sales, Bobby came and said hello to me and I told him why my booking source contact did not come and brief me what I should do or what programe is in store to navigate during my stay. I only saw him later on the 2nd day as we happened to crossed paths. Two full days had passed. On the 2nd day itself i was told at the counter on the 19th floor where my room is, I had to do a health check, at least twice before I depart. Do I do it before or after food or after exercise ? Again another surprise. But my highlight of my stay is that I am glad I met Miss Shirley Leong( I think she is the Guest Service Manager). As she seems to handle the services and the team. Miss Shirley checking in on my stay, showing me around. Asking me questions before I could ask them and rendering the services needed. Great guest anticipation experience. Last but not least another face that you can always see around the premises is Miss Joanne Leow(Food & Beverage Manager) As I walk around, I can see her showing and exposing the core business of the Sanctuary to guests. And helping others to ensure the brand of SS. Joanne used to work for me and I am not here to praise her. What I am proud of her is what she has learned and she is carrying it to another establishment to ensure guests satisfaction and beyond and standards. Miss Shirley and Miss Joanne you are truly the FACE & AMBASSADOR of SS. Please thank your team at Guest Services(Ryan) and Food & Beverage respectively. Oh by the way if you want a hot chocolate look for Mr. Karim in the dinning room. Such a chirpy personnel. Though, sadly I may not have gone through the real flow of my stay for the true experience but you both and your team make it up in services. Hence my ratings Facilities- 5 ☆ Guest Services-4.5 ☆ F&B-4 ☆ (I have spoken to Executive Chef Joseph that the hot food served to me in all my meals are even below luke warm. He is aware of it and he is working towards it. Food taste is good but sadly the taste is diminished by the temperature of the food). Sorry Chef about the rating. Food is one of the major pillars in the wellness industry. Recreation Team-4 ☆ special shout to the malay guy in moustache. The way he handle Madam Cecilia, your long staying guest is amazing.
I recommend anyone to go to SS and I have spoken to some key personnel of my contacts in Kl and will do so in Singapore too, to go to SS. Do look for Miss Shirley and Miss Joanne. They will look after your...
Read moreWe supposed to stay in this Hotel as a part of Med Check promotion and we got a very bad experience with it. I'm traveling with 2 seniors and a pregnant wife, by the time we want to do a check-in, the front office staff said that they didn't have any room available for us, meanwhile all the booking supposed to be done by the International Patient Centre and I have a proof in WhatsApp that they do confirm it to me. The hotel staff ask us to go to the IPC again to get a confirmation letter only to get hold and informed that there are miscommunication between them about the booking and they was sorry about it but the hotel is fully booked until the next 3 days. I made a complaint about it and handled by Miss Munifah (thanks to her) which is very cooperative and very helpful for us, she able to solve it and in the end we got a room for our mom. During Check-in process, the FO staff tell us that there are 2 rooms available (1 upgraded) for us, we were thinking that it's an act of a goodwill from the hotel for us for the hassle and the delay they have made. "My wife ask the front office if the upgraded room was an extended room for us from them as a remedy, she confirmed it with her team and she said YES it is". We do a check-in and go to our room to leave our luggage and someone from FO called again that there are another mistakes, they said I have to "pay" for the room I get, I went to the FO and say why they give us more problem, we do make sure that everything is taken care of during check-in process and again they ruining our resting time. In the end I didn't spend any penny for the room. The next day, during breakfast time we went to the dining room and told that our room is not included for the breakfast and so I pay for it. The manager ask one of his staff to escort us to the table, she sit us in a round table only to get a very rude notice from their Captain name Rohaizad which said "You can't sit here, it's a table for 8 people" in a very rude way. And so we move ourself to another table. During our breakfast, this man is really rude and make us questioning if this is how Malaysia and Sunway Sanctuary treat their guest.
I would never recommend this place for staying after this experience. Very disappointed with the attitude and service.
They have a good room and...
Read moreA Heartfelt Thank You to Sunway Sanctuary
Sunway Sanctuary was truly a sanctuary for our little family, and we are so grateful for the care and support we received during our 28-day stay.
From the moment we checked in right after discharge from Sunway Medical, everything was handled with thoughtfulness — we were given a room based on our preference, and it immediately felt like home. Nicole assisted us with the transfer from the hospital to the sanctuary and we couldn’t have thanked her more for her wide smile and helpfulness. The space was always clean and comfortable, thanks to the dedicated housekeeping team.
My wife was well-nourished with five wholesome meals every day (lots of salmon included!), and the weekday classes — from first aid and baby showering techniques to sound therapy, yoga and even cookie-making, among many others — made our journey as new parents so much more meaningful and easy.
Our baby was lovingly cared for in the nursery by all the passionate and wonderful nurses. One of them - Nancy, even gave our baby a cute hairband! Adrina (another nurse), explained some tips and tricks to us as well along the way and she was always so helpful to my wife.
A very special thank you to Jocelyn, the head nurse, whose knowledge, weekly check-ins and guidance gave us so much confidence. We also deeply appreciated the lactation support, the relaxing herbal bath in our room, and the rejuvenating hot stone massage at the centre.
We would also like to thank Wei Ru and the team from customer care, who always responded to our questions promptly, and the F&B team, who delivered meals with such warmth and smiles that brightened our days. Every staff member we met was friendly, attentive and genuinely caring.
To everyone at Sunway Sanctuary — thank you for creating such a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for both mother and baby. You made this important chapter in our lives so much more special, and for that, we will always be...
