Resort Suites Hotel at Bandar Sunway — Hotel in Subang Jaya

Location

Resort Suites Hotel @ Bandar Sunway is a 3-star hotel located at Pyramid Tower East, Persiaran Lagoon, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Their hotel strategically located at Bandar Sunway next to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park and attached building with Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall.

So basically, it is really near with everything, whether you want to spend time at the water theme park, or to go shopping, or to enjoy more activities at the Sunway Pyramid Shopping such as ice-skating, bowling, movies and etc.

Concierge & Lobby

To go to the lobby, you had to meet the bell staffs at the concierge at the B1 floor. You need to check your name and reservation, and then they will usher you the the lobby which is at 12th floor of the building as you will need keycard to enter the lift floor. Even to the lobby (from B1 floor). Their staffs was really friendly and welcoming. Good job.

Reception Lobby

The reception lobby is spacious and simple. Not really grand and as per normal 3-stars hotel. There will be 2 receptionist will entertained you. There are sofa for you to wait someone or relax.

Check-In

The check-in was fast and smooth. And you are required RM150 as the deposits which for me to much. But, you always can use your credit card, and if nothing, you do not to worry much as you will get your deposit back.

Room

Because this is suites, the room is really spacious. With the extra bed, it can fit more around 5 persons. The bed is King size and really comfortable, I had good sleep that night.

The Balcony

The view from the 20th floor balcony is to die for. You can view the theme park from the balcony and the Sunway Pyramid Resort & Spa Unique Architecture from here. Just checked with the hotel first when you booked your room. Careful with your children.

Kitchenette

One thing special here, they have their own kitchenette complete with microwave, hotplates, kitchen equipment, glasses, plates, and bowls. When you are too tired to go down to the restaurant, you can just cook your favorite meal inside the room.

Bathroom

Love their bathroom, simple and nice especially their transparent basin. Complete with hot shower and their toiletries also complete and interesting.

Laundry

They have coin-operated laundry which is really convenient. It is located at the lobby (12th floor). It only cost RM7 for the washer, and RM5 for the dryer. Love the facilities.

Gym

Surprisingly, they also have a gym facilities which is bonus for me. So you will not miss your exercise.

Breakfast

They had added new facilities which is breakfast at Taste Enclave. It only cost you RM38 for an adult and RM28 for a child start from 6.30am-10.30am. But it will be as complimentary with your stay (can check with the hotel whether it is provided or not).

They choices of food is good here and they staffs are friendly and its good to start your day with the smiles.

All in all, we don’t mind the Cons (listed below Overview, Pros & Cons) as we only stayed 1 night. So for those looking to stay longer nights, if you don’t mind the cons, you can consider as it is affordable for spacious rooms like this in Sunway City.Overview:1. this is not managed by Sunway Property, its concept is like booking airbnb as each unit are owned by different owner, managed by a property management (not by Sunway). Residences of this property are also staying there.2. The name of this place “Resorts Suites @ Bandar Sunway” was tagged as “hotel” in Trip.com, so this can be a bit misleading thinking that this is one of Sunway Properties’ hotel chain.3. Its reception is at B1 of Sunway Pyramid Hotel, all levels are only accessible by card.4. Good for stay if you are just looking for lower budget accommodation in Sunway City (for singles, solo travelers, etc), but wouldn’t recommend if are looking at cosy and clean rooms (for family with kids / elderly).5. As it is a “house” unit itself, it comes with kitchen and some with balcony. Those with kids, need to take note of the balcony.Pro:1. Attentive staff, very helpful and attend to our needs quite immediately.2. Room is spacious, good enough for 3 (2+1) to sleep in (Deluxe) and if you opt for the bigger units, can zzz up to 6 pax.3. Affordable room rates comparable to any of the Sunway hotels around this area.4. For the unit we stayed in, water pressure is very strong, good bathing time, good flush and running tap is strong.5. Our unit came with a bathtub but we didn’t use it.6. 2 beds in our unit, both are king size.7. Provided clean towels, disposal toothbrushes and shampoos/bath gels.8. Provided mineral waters, and packet coffee/tea with cups and stirrer, and there’s water boiler too, if you need to use.9. Aircon is working fine in both living hall and room.10. Very spacious bathroom.11. Quiet at night, so can sleep well.Cons:1. Room furnitures are old and some are not well kept. Probably it’s the way how it’s being managed, so proper care is not given priority by the owner itself.2. Room is dusty, has a lot of cob webs and also little bugs/ants. So take note especially around the bed area.3. Bed sheets were just ok. Can be better as looks dusty and with light stains.4. Curtains are old and dirty.5. Tv channels only 2 channels.6. Remote controls (tv and aircon) are dusty.7. Has balcony but I don’t see that as a plus point as it can be hazardous for family with kids.8. Door lock was loose, hence we got to change to another room as we have kid with us, so safety is priority to us.9. Parking flat rate - I didn’t ask if they have flat rate, but may not be since it’s not under Sunway management directly.For us with child, our priority is always safety and cleanliness. So we will look for other options under Sunway Hotels if next time we intend to spend our nights in...

Stayed 24-29 June 2025. Room number 18109, host name is SH. Prior to our stay the host was already quite unresponsive, very slow replies. Was not informed to leave the keys for housekeeping, so we collected the keys early. Host told us to return the key for housekeeping, so my parents went back and got scolded in malay by the housekeeping lady. (What kind of hotel doesnt have a master key to open the rooms?) My mum also asked him clearly before booking the room that there would be 2 double beds and 2 single beds. He confirmed. But when we got there, it was 2 doubles and 2 bunk beds. We were not told it was bunk bed. Shouldnt this thing be said clearly to the guest?

At first glance, the room was not maintained well. There were leftover toiletries in the bathroom by the previous guest (attached photos below) and the bedroom slippers were black and dirty, looked like they had been used many times by many previous guests (also photo below). Didnt take other pictures but the tablecloth and chairs were also dirty and stained.

Beds were relatively clean but the bunk beds were super noisy and unstable. Not safe to climb to the top bunk bed at all, the bed looked like it would topple over with one hand

“Cleaning fee 70rm” was not specified properly. We assumed that it was a daily housekeeping fee, but it turned out to be a fee to clean the room after we left. Daily housekeeping was 50rm a day which we were not informed of. The host gave us one free housekeeping to compensate for the confusion, but he promised 12pm on 27 june and then last minute say cannot come, only can come 5 pm or else 28 june. We check out 29 june, for what clean on 28??

Throughout our stay we did contact the host a few times for some questions like wifi, parking, etc. but he was not responsive at all.

The room was so bad that 1) we were not allowed to leave our luggage at the reception cos our room was so cheap we were below everyone else at that same hotel and 2) we were not allowed to use the lobby toilets cos same reason and 3) our room didnt even have key card tap to open the door, we had to use manual key

The only good side of this hotel is the location. Directly connected to sunway pyramid mall. For the price u pay, u get what u pay for so be prepared to have no service and a dirty room. Would...
