Sunway University — Attraction in Subang Jaya

I really don’t understand the scheduling process for this university. They said you can choose time slots for your subjects but many classes are either full or there’s only one slot available for you to choose, which led to days where you have 1 class tutorial class at 8am-9pm and the next lecture class at 2pm-4pm, like hello what can I do in that 5 hours?????? Sure I can occasionally study in school for 5 hours until the lecture class starts but THIS IS EVERY WEEK and I can’t even drive back home first and come back to school at a later time because the parking space will often be closed at around 8:30am until 2pm and I don’t understand why they close the parking space so often. I mean I understand they don’t want many people coming in couldn’t find parking space and cause traffic jam in there, but they could’ve just open and close the space more frequently instead of waiting so long. I also saw many people who are clearly not from Sunway parking there so why not just make the parking space accessible only to Sunway staffs and students? The school has so many students who need to park their cars and they could still earn money from parking either way and students won’t have to risk illegal parking and cause even more traffic jam.

I also don’t understand what is going on with the department that schedules the final exams, like hello why do we have exams starting 30th December and they continue on 2nd January?????? Why not just have exams after 1st January since more exams are already in January. I also don’t understand why do we have exam on Saturday instead of just moving the exam. Why not just reduce the semester break by 1 week to extend the exam period by 1 more week since after the exam is just internships and semester break.

As for the lecturers, I really dislike some of their teaching methods. I can understand they’re trying to make the class more interesting but why take almost half of the 2 hours lecture time talking about stories and have casual talks while teaching without recording the session???? It’s pretty hard to keep up without recording and not have any pre recorded videos because if missed out on anything taught in the session then students will need to figure out what they missed out by themselves and do research on their own.

Anyways this university is just blood sucking, the only thing I’m impressed about this university is their marketing strategy by having damn many events, inviting guests to have speeches to students, providing scholarships, and partnering with overseas programs. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to study there. I joined Sunway university because of the scholarship and also the partnership with ACCA to deduct the number of ACCA papers I need to take, but now in 3rd year, I truly regret entering this university. Sad library hours and capacity will not cater to exam season, especially donkey face recognition system everytime you enter. One staff will also screech at adults like a buffoon in the morning. Loves putting on loud events next to the library

Restrictive roads due to useless roadblocks everywhere, always close parking leading to more congestion in the area. Starving students bear hefty compounds when parking outside because of this

Gates will also close at night, allowing students to walk further from their destination and be vulnerable to crime in the dark walkways. Security measures are more for their assets rather than student safety

Canopy walk will also have a curfew or not open at all, defeating the safety feature and purpose of having a canopy walk in the first place. But you will realise the gates are closed once you have reached your destination, so have fun walking the extra miles back to the only open entrance and to your destination via high traffic roads!

Just graduated from this institution, as an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT, i would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone coming here, let me list it out for you : first of all, they treat u like sh*t, every time i asked questions regarding my visa or admission or anything school related, the office is always so lazy to answer, no point of having international office staff some of the lecturers are really unprofessional, namely Mr. Wincen from diploma in graphic design. Teach us nothing, and very old school, like hello sir ? Its 2022 already, not 2015 anymore. Not to mention he is always 1 HOUR LATE TO CLASS. student’s complaint is not heard at all! Every few months the program leader would have a student- teacher meeting, students would always voice out their concerns regarding school facilities and their lectures, but at the end of the day, they never change anything. tuition fee is damn expensive. To be completely honest, money is not an issue for me, BUT i have a high expectations when i pay almost 65k for 2.5 years of my diploma, that is not including the amount of money i spent for printing or projects. I have to say, from my experience in this uni, its not worth 65k cuz at the end of the day, i learn the most from youtube. if u still insist to go to this uni, NEVER STAY IN THEIR HOSTEL. Its too expensive for the small OLD room you will get and the staff also treat u so badly. I was living in the GIRLS UNIT and one day a MALE technician just came to our unit IN THE MORNING and go straight to our bathroom, cuz he wants to fix it.
