This is one small treasure that I could not resist to comment on. We were roaming around Puchong and Taman Puteri area and we stumble across this very interesting name that undistinguished to the name of this area!! Taiping Seafood?? Anyways we decided to give this a chance and try to “unwrapped” this ourselves!! The ambiance was rather down to earth with little left to imagination but the server was quick and helpful with recommendations and we sat and wait. The crunchiness on the deep fried groups drenched in premium soya sauce was the first surprise followed by the extra loaded bowl of porridge!! With just these two starters we were “strapped in” on our chair with little words. The ingredient of groups fish chunk and ground meat gave a sweetness that’s really suits our pallet. The greens which I can’t name in English but called “tong hoe” was silky smooth and extremely cleansing for any oily dishes before. Then the specialty came and it’s a steam “Sun Fong” fish fillet ( a fish that only fishermen would know how to enjoy ). The sweetness of the meat and the clear broth that it was steamed in was just superb; the freshness and texture of this fish is next to perfection. We finally topped of the night with something that looks nothing ordinary : “Orr Nee” which was yam paste and “Toe kau” or what we know as Tree gum made into deserts!! What I can summarize for this seafood porridge finds are for my fellow foodies to come give this place a try, nothing fancy but truly a restaurant that knows’ it’s seafood ingredients. Was also told that at times they would have Empurau and giant groupa for their specialty porridge as well. The surprise for this place is that flower crabs, mud crabs, freshwater prawns and even XXL deep sea prawns are common in their menu. My verdict was a three thumbs up👍👍👍and we are definitely coming...
Read moreTucked way-off KL city but coming here for a meal with friends is worth the journey, there you will stumble upon a cookery differs from your normal daily gorge. Here they're trying to differentiate their blend of cooking from the everyday restaurants and build a niche of their own cooking. Yes of course you can find the normal servings found on the menu but as the name of the restaurant denotes their speciality in seafood porridge will give you a hinge that you must try their porridge to satisfied your curiosity of knowing how good is their pride offering. Well, we did just that and we ordered a Patin fish porridge, I wouldn't say it's the best porridge I have eaten but then again it's something unique about their approach in preparing a short notice order. This delicacy can command a score of 7/10 points since I myself have never tried this serving so definitely can't give an absolute distinction how it should savor but can only assumed that this is how it should tinge to the choice of the majority. Score of people coming in for their porridge so I can assumed it's to their liking. Probably I need to savoir more different choices to finally come to a conclusion as for now I...
Read moreOrdered fish, fishballs, prawn, and squid porridge for 2 pax. Costing Rm 58.
Let’s say, about 4 PCs of small prawns, a number of fish slices and a few fishballs. And some squid pieces.
I would say, yes, the seafood were fresh. But ingredients were not much. Average RM 29 per pax for a bowl of porridge. It was quite watery. Lots of salt, and seasonings. Taste is not bad.
If you’re looking for plain porridge, this is not the place for it. I felt very thirsty after eating here.
Seemed popular and seeing regular customers meeting up with each other here. Pretty nice place to hangout when less crowded. Cooling and airy, with aircond.
Come here for the “rich” porridge, flavorful seafood add on. They have fresh...
