Tiffin's — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Went to Tiffin for dinner with my family. We went all the way from Sentul to Subang excitedly to try out the authentic Thai food. I made reservation for 5 pax. When we arrived there, we had to wait outside coz the table reserved for us was occupied by anor family who didn’t make reservation and waiting for a table to clear. The friendly uncle (the one who takes order) told us wait outside till another table is cleared. We also just waited patiently. When the other table cleared, we went to sit there but suddenly the people occupying our reserved table wanted the table we went and sat. And the friendly uncle came and told us to change back to the table reserved for us where this family was occupying earlier and saying that was the table actually reserved for us. It was so annoying and unreasonable but we just got up changed the table. And the other family came to sit at the table we were sitting. This family is so annoying and doesn’t hv a simple mannerism. My question is why did you allow that family to sit on the table reserved for us even when we hv arrived. Should ask the family to clear the table right!!! And then we ordered the food…4 dishes Pandan chicken - is just the wings wrapped with pandan leaves Seabass lemon grass - average only. We hv had better ones Tomyam thick gravy - ok Kailan - was raw and difficult to chew

The food was super slow. First came pandan chicken and fish. Vege took like 30 mins. And the last was tomyum which we waited for about 45 mins. We ordered Thai basil chicken but had to cancel it. We wanted to order dessert after our meal…but we decided not to coz service is so slow and we are tired of waiting. Overall we didn’t really enjoy the food coz it comes in batches. And the table issue really spoiled our mood. This will be our first and last time...

I was a kinda disappointed that's why 2 stars was given.

So what exactly happen, i came by to this place expecting to have a good meal but was then told that I had to wait for my food for very long, as many tables are not being served yet, at least an hour is needed. The guy was being honest so kudos to that.

People are all queuing outside during peak hour not knowing that they will need to wait again another hour or more once they are inside. I felt they should have been more transparent to the crowd out there. Imagine waiting 30 minutes outside for the inside crowd to complete their meal and when you are inside you wait another 1 hour.

But why do we open up a restaurant having a tables and can't cope up with the service. We should have been told before sitting down.

So I decide not to order any food and decide to go with the drinks, when I was looking up at the drinks menu, alot of them are not available so I had to ask which is available, this is another put off for a new restaurant which is only 1 month old. I also overheard the table beside me that they were also saying "why alot of food is unavailable and its already 1 month plus".

I would revisit again during non peak hours and when they are more ready. And it's a nono for anyone who wish to dine in during peak hours. Unless you don't mind waiting. As a conclusion they are lack of man power and...

Sorry for my unfriendly review. But im just sharing my honest, sincere experience at your cafe. Also 1st time dine in here. Took my thai friend to try, cause see many good review.

Customer service: arrogant boss (cafe owner took order), Unfriendly, Bad attitude. No patience in taking order & introducing food menu to customer. Surprisingly, he took order for other tables also the same unfriendly attitude and very instructive. Only introduce the food he feels it is good for you. But not listen to customer needs.

Order seafood clear tom yum= yes they used fresh herbs, 2 prawn, fresh sotong, fresh oyster moushroom but the broth No seafood sweet taste. Broth taste too sour & too spicy. My thai friend say, this is not seafood tom yum.

Red curry = tasteless. Taste too sour & too salty.

Lemongrass tea = no fresh lemongrass, they used teabag lemongrass.(fresh lemongrass are cheap & easilly availabe in malaysia & easy to plant too).

Thai basil mince meat(pad kra pao) = this was taste superb delicious (you feel like eat in thailand).
