Ewan's Restaurant — Restaurant in Terengganu

We had frequented Ewan's restaurant in the past and loved it because it's cheaper than other restaurants, plus the food is delicious too. But on our recent visit, it seems the menu price has gone up and the portion is getting smaller. Still, I would order their mango shake whenever I stop by the restaurant.

On another note, this time around (mid july 2019) we stayed at Ewan's chalet the colourful wooden chalets on the hill visible from the restaurant. We got a fan room (no aircond) for a fairly good price after we couldn't find any available room that's within our budget on the beachfront. So if you couldn't get a room on Coral Bay's beachfront you might want to check out Ewan's chalet. Just ask the cashier about the room.

The downsides are, (i) the chalets are not beachfront (we don't really mind), (ii) you have to hike up the hill to get to your room (if you're not fit) and (iii) it could get very warm inside the room if you're the type that likes to get some afternoon nap. But otherwise by 4:30pm the temperature inside the chalet will cool down and at night, the temperature will be just nice for a good night's sleep. No need for aircond at night time.

And you get a nice green hill view from your balcony...

For my meal, I ordered two classic Malaysian dishes: nasi goreng ayam talur mata and nasi goreng petaya ayam. Both dishes were packed with flavor and came with the perfect amount of spiciness. The nasi goreng ayam talur mata had a delightful blend of fried rice, succulent chicken, and the rich taste of a sunny-side-up egg. Meanwhile, the nasi goreng petaya ayam was a delightful fusion of spicy petaya (stink bean) with tender chicken that left me craving for more.

In conclusion, my experience at Ewan's Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The delicious food, pleasant ambiance, and accommodating staff make it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Malaysian cuisine with a spicy twist. Nice place. Bersih and comfy. Simple designation but nice. I suka the concept, this place ala ala rumah tiang. The foods that we ordered were very delicious. Sedap sangat. Kena dengan our citarasa. I really really recommend this place for you to try. Takkan menyesal. Their chef/chefs are great! I salute. Dorg punya seafood fresh. Their juice also delicious. If you come here, you should order their juice. Serious fresh and sedap. Not too sweet, the flavor is balanced. The staffs also were very friendly and helpful. Harga pun tak mahal sngt, tak murah sngt, bolehlah. Servis pun okay. Kalau i dtg pulau perhentian lagi, i will definitely come to this restaurant again....
