The Deck — Restaurant in Malé

Went for lunch yesterday , ordered a large valhoamas noodles and a chocolate biscuit cake , had the cake while I waited for the noodles and it was pretty good , after about 25-30 mins a waiter came from the kitchen holding what seemed like my portion noodles but, he went to the other waiters and they were having some kind of discussion , it seemed like there was some kind of miscommunication on their end and it was the wrong type of noodle dish , they were at a counter 10 feet away from me and I could vaguely comprehend what was happening, one of the waiters started picking stuff out of the dish with a fork and his hand , a kitchen worker came out of the kitchen and they were trying to fix the situation , the waiter took the noodles back to the kitchen and returned in about 2 mins. He served me the noodles, and I was sceptical. The noodles were cold and did not look freshly cooked. I had two small bites called for the bill. The waiter did ask me if I did not like the food and if he should change it, but at that point I had neither the appetite nor the time. I paid the bill in full and left. I presume the waiter picked out the other type of meat they had put in, and the kitchen staff just added some valhoamas to the noodles to "fix" the dish.

The staff displayed unprofessional and unhygienic actions.

The food was cold and unappealing.

This place. Oh how many times it has saved me from death by hunger (Open 24 hours). Very clean, the staff are friendly and always ready to take order.

Food: there's lots of varieties available on the menu and they have a set breakfast and dinner menu which sells all items for 50 rufiyyaa. It's not the best food in male but it's definitely not bad. I'd rate the food quality about 6.5 out of 10. Having said that, all the local food they have makes up for it! And they are as yummy as it can get.

Parking: Parking always available right at the front.

Atmosphere: not much around but there's open space and in the Cafe there's TV's on usually with hindhi songs or soccer. Can't complain...

The service was horrible. The waiter didn't have a notepad or anything to write our orders down. Got our drinks wrong but we didn't mind it. Then they brought our food out. The chicken kohthu roshi had absolutely no chicken in it, it was bland. The Nasigoreng was also horrible. None of us were able to eat anything we ordered and as for the parts we did eat, we eventually got food poisoning. Never going back there. Also the total came to over MVR500 and the inedible swell they served really isn't worth that heavy price tag. 0/10. Won't recommend anyone...
