What an odd experience 😰 The moment I came inside - they escorted me to the table and gave the menu. But I wanted to have a look what they have - so I went to see what goodies they baked - and then waitress took menu off from my table ?! So after I check goodies out - I returned to my table and had to ask menu again- because sandwiches weren’t on a display. And she gave that strange look. And then she would stare at me every time she passed by. A few minutes later an intern-waiter came and took my order- he didn’t really new answers on my questions- but I place an order any way. I got a salmon sandwich and a pistachio macchiato. I didn’t wait long for my order. Macchiato was delicious 🤤 not too much syrup , very balanced. But sandwich- was a disappointment. First of all there was too much bread, like 3 slices of white bread (I forgot to mention whole wheat bread, when I was ordering and waiter didn’t ask me about choice of bread either ). Secondly - cream cheese on one side and a lot of mayonnaise in egg salad on the other side - in the same sandwich- is not a good match. I could barely taste the salmon. It was just mayo and bread, basically. But, it is just my opinion. Maybe someone really like it. Nothing wrong with that.
This place positions it is as a restaurant or cafe - you have to wait to be seated blah blah - but they won’t bring you a bill- you have to go and pay at the till. So, I went there and I had been waiting for ages at the empty till, that someone would pay attention and finally take my payment. There was no customer queue just to be clear. There was just nobody at the till.
Well, my overall impression is that the atmosphere there feels fussy and...
Read moreI stopped by for a late breakfast and was genuinely impressed by both the quality of the food and the warm, professional service. I ordered a sandwich with egg, a slice of cake, and a double espresso, all of which were fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented (photos attached). The sandwich was perfectly toasted, the egg cooked just right, and the cake had a lovely texture and balanced sweetness. The espresso was rich and bold, exactly how I like it.
The service was equally outstanding. The waitress who took my order was incredibly kind and professional. She clearly knew the menu very well and gave me excellent recommendations, which I appreciated as it was my first time visiting. Her friendly and confident manner made me feel welcome from the start.
At the end of my visit, I went up to pay and was greeted by Sebastian at the counter, who was also exceptionally polite and courteous. He left a great final impression and added to the overall positive atmosphere of the place.
It’s clear that the team at Busy Beef take pride in what they do, from food preparation to customer service. The café itself is cosy, clean, and has a relaxed vibe, perfect for a casual meal or coffee break.
I’ll definitely be returning soon and have already recommended it to friends. A hidden gem in Sliema that truly deserves more...
Read moreCoffee, sweets and savoury food is good except the frozen ones of course. I give one star to both Sliema and Bkara because of staff in general. Been at both places many times and its worse and worse each timw. I think they really need additional training or higher pay. They sit you down without a menu. You have to get their attention and after good 5-10 minutes you get the menu. Another same amount of time you wait to at least to have a water. Not to say about a cofee which comes way laaaater because they dont write down that you ordered room temperature not cold water and exchange order delaying the rest. At the begining you ordered croissant which gets lost for the good 20 minutes. There is always something wrong. Not the one milk that you ordered. They forget about lemon slice etc etc. They forget to bring you sweets. The staff never knows what are the ingriedients of the food especialy sauses etc. They ask the kitchen and come back after 10 minutes or not at all...never ending chaos. Instead of enjoying time you loose it and...
