One of the best Restaurants at the Sliema sea front. It is highly recommended. In detail: First visit: I had Bresaola as a starter. It was good, but you could clearly see, that they had it earlier and put the plate into the fridge. The corners of the Bresaola pointed upwards, which is always a sign, that the meat had stayed in a dry environment for a while. I don't understand, why they did not cut the 8 slices before serving. It should not take more than a minute. But the Bresaola was ok (6/10). My main course was grilled octopus, and it was perfect. Tender on the inside, crisp on the outside, grilled with some olive oil. I can't remember having better octopus around the Mediterranean Sea. (10/10). I had a local Chardonnay with the food, which also very good (7/10). Second visit: I decided for fresh black mussels as starter. Came in a nice pot, cooked traditionally in white wine, garlic and with onions. Super fresh and tasty. (8/10). For the main course, I did choose a local white fish (sorry, forgot the name). As with the octopus, it was perfect. Crisp skin, tender meat, fried in olive oil with a hint of butter and sprinkled with some sea salt. (9/10). I had no side dished with the fish and tried a desert. The "Bantuffo" is a creation from the restaurant. A banana cream (maybe with Ricotta) and dark biscuit dough. Heavy, but very, very good (9/10). The Sancerre I ordered with the food was delicious. (7/10) Service war excellent and very helpful. I paid around 60 Euro for every visit, which was totally fine. All in all, highly...
Read moreFirst, you should ask for the fish of the day, I had a good sword fish. The fish soup, which you can find in other Maltese places around, is very good here - delicious. If you like octopus, I think here is the best cooked, compared with the other restaurants in the area. We had to ask before we received a menu, although it was not crowded, but this is just a minor issue that we forgot when the food arrived. The services are good, the people are nice. The guy in charge is the only Maltese working here, the rest are expats, but they are well trained and. the prices are a bit above other places in around, 4 adults + 2 kids = about 160€. I am giving this good review, although I did have an unpleasant experience which resulted in a broken phone glass, which was not my fault, but we found a reasonable...
Read moreAfter passing by this restaurant every day, we decided to give it a try today. Unfortunately, both the penne salmon pasta and Carbonara we ordered were quite disappointing. The salmon pasta lacked any amount of visible salmon and had did not smell right. Meanwhile, the Carbonara sauce tasted like it was made from a pre-packaged mix, lacking any authentic flavors. Although the pasta itself was cooked well, the sauces were a letdown.
Additionally, the waiters didn't ask about our satisfaction with the food nor showed any concern towards customer service.
While the restaurant's decor was satisfactory, it appeared to cater more towards an older clientele.
Overall, we wouldn't recommend dining at this restaurant due to the underwhelming food and...
