One of the standout dishes was the days special, which featured grilled squid, that is bursting with flavor. Another must-try is the beef tagliata, a hearty and delicious dish made with tender chunks of meat, potatoes on a flavourful salad.

Read moreWhat a lovely place, so well decorated using old things to give it a great vibe- audio cassettes, old books, old video tapes. Great way to recycle.
Manager didn’t turn us down without reservation, rather showed us seating downstairs. He was very friendly and welcoming, which is rarity these days. We were being served by Jyoti, who was very sweet, patient and she looked after us very well.
There were 4 things on menu that we could order as vegetarians- V Gambit, Feta gems, Aubergine & Gambit Ravioli( can be made without pork) & a corn bread to start with on bed of pepper sauce. Food was really good and delicious & presentation made it even more appetising. Though we liked everything but I will give highest marks to Feta & Cornbread. Aubergine tasted good that even my husband who doesn’t like aubergine, tried it & ate little, commenting its nice. I really wished they had more vegetarian dishes & some non alcoholic drinks on menu.
Stairs can be lil tricky for people with mobility issues so better to book in advance to be seated at ground level. Toilets have just 4-5 steps but yes to be kept in mind.
You can get 10% off bill if paying by cash “Fight against cashless society” thats good one.
We had good time here, and can recommend it to anyone visiting Valetta and to book it in advance as we were lucky to get seat, just after us within 30-40 mins even downstairs was...
Read moreWe dined at Gambit on a Saturday evening. The owners/host were very welcoming. The staff immediately attended to our requests and were very polite.
We were seated downstairs because the original table upstairs was still in use. Since downstairs is like a cellar expect a smell of some humidity. When we commented to the owner, he himself did admit it was true and being an old place they are doing whatever they can to reduce the smell. Ultimately we got used to it, no big deal.
The decor is so simple yet so distinctive. One one side there old books open ( that kind of yellowish old pages) on another side what looked like a window was covered with old vhs tapes. Pictures old of artists, Serbian people and culture. It is what makes this place unique.
We took cocktails. Although some weren’t available the ones we took were very good and tasty.
The food was amazing. The Tomahawk was cooked to perfection. Portion wise don’t expect to get out there bloated. It’s enough. Not all of us took desert and those that did weren’t disappointed. We were also offered a drink after our meal which is a nice gesture nowadays but not that common at other venues.
Overall we were 3 couples enjoying a night out without kids and this place was amazing.
Prices are decent for such restaurants in the heart of Valletta.
Thank you...
