The food was bland. Everything was. Even the salt wouldn’t come out of the salt shaker to help the meal. The steak was not the best quality and had no flavor. They give you a bunch of sauces to put on it to mask the lack of flavor. They coupled the dinner with half of a Roma tomato that they barely grilled, one hard broccoli floret and a small piece of corn. The corn was the winner for the night I guess. The food came out luke warm after waiting so long. The bread was already sitting on the table uncovered and the flies were visiting each loaf, table by table. This is how they prepped all the tables, with the bread sitting there uncovered. The mozzarella sticks weren’t hot. You couldn't even see a cheese pull. Just rubbery, not so stretchy, mozzarella. The waiter forgot our salad despite me reminding him over 3 times. There was space on the opposite side of the table for him to deliver our things to us, it was only the 2 of us, but instead he would come on the side my husband I were sitting and would reach over everything! Over our food, drinks and he almost stuck his finger in our sauces when explaining what they were. And the dessert was meh. You’ll survive but this is not a foodies...
Read moreIt is extremely annoying that you can not book a time to eat dinner at the restaurant. We’ve tried twice so far to eat here on our trip, first time we came at 645 and were advised no tables until 830. Second time we came 15 minutes before they opened (545pm) waited in line for 40 minutes to see the hostess. We were then told the earliest table was at 730. What a joke and waste of time.
Is waiting for 1.75hours really a better experience than booking a time? Or better yet, only a 1/3 of the tables are open at dinner, maybe increase the capacity to 1/2?
The menu does look good, I hope it is worth the wait. I might bump this to a 3 star if the food is decent.
We’ve really enjoyed staying at the RIU and would recommend it. This dining experience has been incredibly frustrating so far.
Edit : Grilled platter for two was pretty good. In the top 2 restaurants at...
Read moreWe went for dinner, and we wish we had listened to the warnings we received. If you love steaks, this is not the place to go. If you’re an occasional “treat yourself” with a steak human, this MIGHT be up your alley. We ordered our steaks at medium. One was undercooked and the other was ridiculously overcooked. Flavour was nonexistent. The wait makes you think the food will be good, and I’m hearing some amazing reviews. Let’s add the disclaimer that we are from Alberta and know our beef, and genuinely make a killer steak on our own at home. Presentation is on and point, I’ll give them that. The best course is the dessert, we both enjoyed that. I got the chocolate cake and my fiancé got...
