During our most recent Carnival cruise last year, our group had the pleasure of experiencing the coastline of Playa Medano in Cabo San Lucas, thanks to a knowledgeable tour guide who welcomed us and gladly provided an insightful exploration of the area with his bicycle taxi. As we strolled along the city streets we finally reached the Playa Medano beach with stunning views of the ocean and our cruise ship visible in the distance which added to the beautiful scenery. The cost of the city tour was $25 but we added a tip and treated him to the meals we experienced since he was so kind and was like part of our group. The complete tour lasted about an hour and we highly recommend it. While we didn't have the opportunity to dine at any local specialty restaurants, our time spent touring Cabo with our city guide was a delightful and memorable experience. Overall, our visit to Playa Medano and Cabo San Lucas in its beauty, served as a serene and enjoyable stop during our cruise excursion, offering a glimpse into this beautiful...
Read moreThe blue water is the first thing to catch your eyes! Deep blue colors of different shades, what a tropical place should look like! The down side to this beach is the slope and very course sand. It’s nice to walk along this stretch of beach from the marina all the way to the rock outcropping. You pass many resorts, vendors and all the sights in between. Heading towards the rock outcropping gives the best opportunity to see the arch. The slope to the beach and contour of the ocean floor leads this to have strong waves along the shore. The water in the ocean is typically warm enough to swim. You simply need to time the rush of the waves to enter and exit. Pay attention and it’s not for the faint of heart, as the ocean often will roll tourists after knocking their feet out from beneath them. There is a ton of power and daily you can see someone swept off their feet. If you’re not up for the challenge stay by the pool and watch the ocean from your lounger...

Medano Beach is a must if you’re in Cabo! It’s a public beach with access points every few blocks, even though it’s surrounded by hotels and resorts. It’s super easy to get to, whether you’re staying nearby or just visiting for the day.
There are tons of beach clubs if you’re looking for food, drinks, and music—but be ready, prices are high, as you’d expect in a popular tourist spot. That said, you can also bring your own drinks, umbrella, and chairs and just relax on the sand, which is a huge plus.
Yes, there are plenty of vendors walking by trying to sell you things, but honestly, they’re not too pushy and usually take a polite “no thanks” well.
Overall, it’s a very nice and family-friendly beach with beautiful water, great people-watching, and a fun vibe. Perfect spot to...
