Have mixed feelings about our experience here last night. We came in about 8. There were a couple of larger tables there before us. We ordered 3 things and a glass of wine. It took an hour to get any of the food. The server came by at some point to say sorry about the wait, the cook is working hard. We were really understanding about it for a long time. Finally, we got one dish - the clams - and they tasted great. it was small though and we were hungry. Then we got the gyoza. I thought these were absolutely delicious. My partner was not happy that they were so small, and it's true there were only 5 of them on the plate and they were thin and delicate so just a tiny snack. When my patience ran thin though was when our server returned after another longish wait and said that they were out of the sashimi dish we had ordered an hour ago. During all this time, the big table in front of us was getting served tons of food - they had tacos and sandwiches and the claims and oyster - all delivered at different times. A few members of their party had arrived after us and got served food before us. By the time our server told us our 3rd dish wasn't available, it was now 9 pm. Given how long we had waited for our small plates of food, we might have had to wait another hour had we ordered another dish. We asked for the check. We both thought that perhaps the server would offer us something - some complimentary small plate or something - knowing how long we had waited and that he was responsible for letting us know if something we ordered wasn't available - and he should have done it way sooner than he did - not after having us wait for an hour. When we asked for the check, that he brought fairly promptly, We left hungry and tired from the long wait and passed the big table laden with dishes we wouldn't get to eat. Don't know if...
Read moreOyster House in La Paz is amazing!!!! My friends and I had dinner here (there were four of us) and it was hands down our favorite restaurant of the trip. The space is super cute - it feels like you’re walking into someone’s cozy kitchen but with some of the freshest seafood we’ve ever had.
Our server Franco was incredible!!! He was so friendly and attentive and gave us great recommendations for the menu. We started with oysters (of course) and whitefish, also added another fish which was kind of like a yellowtail with ponzu sauce. I had the fried oyster sandwich and it was one of my favorite sandwiches. Omggg the sourdough bread was so fresh and pulled the whole dish together. We ordered so many other dishes and every single one was absolutely delicious.
The margaritas were super fresh. Honestly the whole vibe was just perfect. Chill, welcoming, and the kind of place where you feel like you want to order the entire menu. If we had another day in La Paz we 100% would’ve come back for a second round.
This is definitely a must visit if you’re in La Paz. The seafood is unreal, the atmosphere is great, and Franco will take such good care of you. Already dreaming of...
Read moreFood took a very long time to come out because they had forgotten to put in our order despite them only have two other parties (one was of one person). Also portion sizes are quite small for the price (realized this today after visiting another seafood restaurant).
Food review from best to worst:
Flirty Clams - 5/5 - absolutely loved this one! Would come back just for this. The sauce on this was amazing.
Oyster sandwich - 3.5/5 - not enough oysters, everything else is good
Oyster Aguachile - 3/5 - salsa on it was good but didn’t like it as much as a fresh shucked oyster - just a personal preference.
Fish Tacos (Grilled) - 1/5 - lacked flavor (only flavor was oregano) and the toppings were also...
