Almibar is a welcome find here in Tijuana. It's an American-style coffeehouse, with plentiful, comfortable seating and games galore. The owner is a gamer with a Star Wars obsession... my kind of guy!
Offerings are fresh and tasty, featuring a variety of cheesecakes (the ChocoRol, based around the classic Mexican treat, was a unique twist). There's also the very hipster bacon-topped donut here, as well as cookies. It's not on the menu, but almond milk is available on request.

What can I say, after dinner my subconscious mind takes over and demands dessert! I am glad we decide to stop in! The employee was working that night was super friendly describing each of the flavors for us. By the looks of the dessert case ( almost empty!), the place seemed really popular! Luckily we were able to snag a piece of Biscoff Cheesecake and it was DELICIOUS. The pieces are LARGE, definitely enough to share among 2 people. Read moreThe pastries are EXCELLENT and the menu items pretty darn good!! The service could be better but friendly people own/run the place so it's tolerable as it's not a fancy dining location. Place is ok but retains heat way too much. Between the coffee maker, toaster oven, fridge, lights and very low ceiling, and with the heat of the day it just makes for a sweat box.
