Casa Madre — Restaurant in Cancún

I absolutely recommend. I think everyone would enjoy this restaurant and find something to eat that is fantastic. Leonardo, our waiter, was amazing.

Now the food was beyond my expectations. There is a made to order breakfast tacos that a sweet lady will craft a delicious taco to your culinary delight. Additionally, there is an amazing omelette station that had the most options I have ever seen at a restaurant omelette station.

The service was the greatest. It was beyond five stars. We had the same waiter Leonardo and his staff making sure we have the best experience. Coffee was great, orange juice was fresh, water was cold and always full. They greeted us every morning with joy, enthusiasm, and made us feel like we were royalty. They made local traditional Mexican food that I had never had before unique to the area.

I think the other reviewers are overstating how good this place is. It's a buffet—please manage your expectations. For a buffet, it's good. There's a lot of variety, particularly at breakfast. Unfortunately it suffers the vices of many buffets (such as putting waffles in a covered container so they lose their crisp 🤌🏽).

But all things considered it's a click above your average "continental breakfast". Personally I recommend the Mexican dishes and pastries (I mean...you're in Mexico...). Also load up on lox because this hotel is good about serving up fresh fish.

To my coffee lovers (the real ones who don't own a Keurig), the Mexican coffee is safe enough to enjoy black. No it's not perfect, but it is brewed well enough and not nearly as sour or bitter as the coffee shop (or worse, that arcade place).

Final note: there's a stray cat. Seems to be a regular. A little skittish, but friendly. But if you don't know what to feed a cat please do not give it food. You might end up doing more...
