Listen. The food is good. A little pricey, but for the location, and type of food..pretty much what I expect. Both times I have been there, the girls serving me have been prompt, and sweet, and efficient.
But a man, who I can only assume is the owner, has ruined the dining experience both times.
He insisted on "showing me how to eat my meal"... the first time I said " no thank you" he tried again, and I politely declined... upon the second visit today, he stood over my husband and I at our table as our food was delivered. Offered again to show me (a 36 year old woman) how to eat my meal. Which I again tried to decline, he said "show me" and he continued standing closely over us. Staring down...I didn't know what to do...and tried several times to ask him to leave..at one point he reached for my cutlery and meal and i used the words "you are making me uncomfortable "...to which he begrudgingly left us alone to finally eat in peace.
I understand that perhaps he thinks he is being helpful...but as a grown woman, who has eaten her fair share of meals, 1 time declining "help" should be enough. Perhaps I am intolerant..but I will not be dining in this...
Read moreThe owner was kind, and I appreciate the hospitality. I am Korean and came here specifically to enjoy Korean food. Unfortunately, this was the least satisfying Korean meal I have had in my life, both in terms of taste and quality.
I ordered the bulgogi, but the meat quality was poor, and much of it was burnt. The meat in the kimchi fried rice was also low quality, and the kimchi itself was far from authentic in both taste and texture.
I sincerely hope that foreign guests do not think this is what Korean food truly tastes like. In Korea, you can find far better Korean food for less than half the price, at virtually any restaurant. There is no place in Korea that would serve food of this quality and call it Korean cuisine.
Let me emphasize again — this is not what Korean food is. I’m genuinely concerned that people may develop a negative perception of Korean cuisine based on...
