La Guada — Restaurant in Cancún

Swindled! We were enticed by a 3 beers for $60 pesos sign, and told the waiter so as we sat down. He told us the three beer choices and we chose pacifico. The promotion is a normal size, right? Or is it the small ones? I asked. He said normal and indicated with his hands. We were given a few basket of chicharrones, hence the one star, and asked for the bill when done. The bill was $120 pesos! I asked why and the easier said that the normal sized beers were not a part of the promotion. I reminded him that we specifically said we had come in for the promotion and he repeated the same information about size and price. We went around and around until my friend got frustrated and paid the bill and we left. I am fluent in Spanish and the man admitted that he had understood me just fine. Un amigo y yo queríamos un trago para platicar y ponernos al día... No sabíamos a dónde ir, pero muy cerca de donde estábamos vimos la legendaria cantina La Guadalupana, que luego de ser renovada, le cambiaron el nombre a cómo todos la conocían.

Desde el principio todo estuvo muy bien, comenzando por el trato que fue sumamente atento por parte de nuestro mesero, quien nos dió recomendaciones y siempre estuvo al pendiente de lo que necesitaramos.

Al pedir nuestras bebidas, llegaron unos pequeños tazones de sopa azteca de cortesía, no teníamos mucha hambre pero tras una cucharada, nos la terminamos como si no hubiera mañana... Exquisito sabor y consistencia.

Luego pedimos otras botanas como un plato de tuétano, un queso fundido y un guacamole. Todo estuvo muy rico y pudimos acompañar con un tequila que desconocíamos pero nuestro mesero nos recomendó.

Fue una muy buena experiencia. Es un lugar excelente para platicar con amigos y comer o botanear acompañando unos tragos.

No esperes un ambiente de fiesta... Es un lugar de decoración sencilla, con música ambiental que te permite conversar y de precios muy decentes.
