갈비찜 (Galbi-Jjim)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oh My Ggogi Korean Barbecue truly exceeded all expectations and left us with an unforgettable dining experience! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the tantalizing aroma of sizzling meats and the inviting ambiance that transported us straight to the heart of Korea.

Our delightful journey was made even more memorable thanks to the impeccable service of Suri, our wonderful waitress! Her charisma and genuine passion for Korean cuisine shone through as she guided us through the menu with expert knowledge and infectious enthusiasm. Suri's attentiveness and friendly demeanor truly made us feel like cherished guests, and her personalized recommendations elevated our dining experience to new heights.

The quality of the food at Oh My Ggogi Korean Barbecue was nothing short of exceptional. Each bite of the perfectly marinated meats melted in our mouths, offering an explosion of flavors that delighted our taste buds. The interactive tabletop grilling experience added an extra layer of fun and excitement to our meal, allowing us to engage with our food in a unique and engaging way.

In addition to the exquisite food, the ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with a touch of modern elegance that added to the overall charm of the establishment. Every detail, from the stylish decor to the attentive service, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly immersive dining experience that left us wanting more.

Overall, our visit to Oh My Ggogi Korean Barbecue was an absolute delight, thanks in large part to Suri's outstanding service and the restaurant's commitment to excellence. We left feeling not only satisfied but also deeply grateful for the opportunity to savor such delicious food and experience genuine Korean hospitality right in our own backyard.

If you're looking for an authentic Korean barbecue experience that will transport you to the bustling streets of Seoul, look no further than Oh My Ggogi. And be sure to ask for Suri - she'll make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. Thank you, Oh My Ggogi, for an unforgettable dining experience that we will cherish for...

This is our goto place when we are near Hotel zone for Korean food. Make sure to set your expectation if you frequent Korean restaurant in Korea or USA. In Mexico, it is hard to get hold of some Korean ingredients so taste may different than what you are used to. It was certainly true in Merida Korean restaurant. OMGG use wood charcoal for Korean BBQ which that alone was worth a visit for me. It's something you don't see in USA that much. None in my NVA area.

Pros: Pretty decent food especially using wood charcoals for BBQ. Friendly wait staff and they were attentive.

Cons: It could get pricey with strong Pesos and following USA tipping policy. Most restaurant will add service fee (tip) in to their bill or have mobile card reader showing tip screen and will ask you how much tip you will add to the bill. I think you should add least 10% of your bill if you have wait staff cook BBQ at your table.

BBQ is not prime choice meat. If you are particular about Galbi, you may find it too tough for your taste. If you eat lots of Korean food at restaurant in Korea or USA cities, you may find that some food is little lacking in flavor and different. For example, Korean seafood pancake has little too much starch and not so much seafood in it. Kimchi and Doenjang JJigae may not be deep in flavor as you are used etc.

Overall, I think you will enjoy the experience. I took Uber from the Hotel zone approx. $160-$200 each way. Make sure account for that on your budget if you take Uber. Overall, we spent $200 USD for the night out. We do drink so one Soju and few...

From a Korean: This is the closest you’ll get to authentic Korean food in Cancún. Obviously there are some ingredients that can’t be found here so to a native Korean or someone who knows the cuisine well, some dishes will taste a bit different. That said, all the dishes taste excellent, and the service and atmosphere are both top notch. They even have charcoal grills with vents to pull away as much smoke as possible from the grill. It’s a very fun experience to cook the meat at your table. We ordered the beef combo, pork combo, pork belly, regular Korean pancake, kimchi pancake, bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, jajang myeong, regular kimbap, bulgogi kimbap, and naengmyeon. The combos come with several different ban chan (side dishes). The combos also include rice, soybean soup, egg soup, and lettuce to make wraps with your meat, rice and banchan. As a fun dessert they even have authentic Korean frozen treats. All the food was delicious. If you’re a novice to Korean food, I would recommend the regular Korean pancake, both kimbaps, and meat combos. If you’re accustomed to Korean food, I’d recommend the kimchi fried rice and naengmyeon as well (add your own vinegar and hot mustard). Overall, highly recommend this restaurant! I wish we took photos to post but we smashed all the food...

I had such a fantastic time: the food, friendly service, and empathetic staff were wonderful. Having pork ribs BBQ on the table is not easy in Canada, where I live, so my intention was to enjoy Korean food before departure. The meat was delicious, of course, grilled on the fire, which is the traditional Korean way to enjoy meat. Refills of side dishes and lettuce wraps (쌈) were provided, but I wish I had perilla leaves (깻잎) ㅎㅎㅎㅎ. The kimchi tofu stew was salty and spicy enough to balance the pork ribs BBQ in my opinion. In addition, I must appreciate their hard work and empathy. During my trip in Riviera maya, I had a fall, was limping, but the staff helped me to get a taxi after meal, unfortunately the taxi didn't take VISA and staff paid for it. OMG...my heart was melted. How staff tried so hard to make me feel safe as a foreigner. Mucho muchos Gracias Amigos!! I will visit again...

This place is fantastic! I was missing Korean food on my extended (1 month) trip and this restaurant was close to where I was staying. First off, every new customer that enters is greeted vocally by the ENTIRE staff. It is cute and a nice way to feel welcome. The restaurant is on the top floor of a strip mall and occupies a big corner with outdoor seating. The weather was nice outside but I decided to sit inside. The place is set up to accommodate groups of 4 or more but they also easily sat me, a solo traveler. Each table inside has a vented hood for grilled food. I had the steak bulgogi ramen, steamed rice, a few beers (local) and kimchi. The kimchi is free, and I ate so much of it that the owner came by to see how I liked it. I loved it, loved the place and loved her! I paid 400 pesos all in including tip. Definitely would go back if I was in town longer!
