We were walking exploring Guanajuato after a ride down from the funicular, when we came across this beautifull hiden Gem . The people are so friendly. Jesus kindly explained to me about all the different tequillas and showed me his collection. He made me a wonderfull margerita with cocunut that was delicious. We came back for dinner and the food was yet the best we had in Guanajuato so far. They offered us a seafood broth as a welcome token and bring you the best home made tortilla chips we have had yet with an amazing home made dipping sauce. For starters we had a tuna carppaccio thast was very nice and Octopus for main that was cooked so soft , it was a delicassey. Jesus is very kind and attentive and looked after us very well, as well as the young lady also attending to our table , Paulina who kindly asked the kitchen to prepare me a fresh hot sauce of aquachile roja for me to take back home to London. Also the young man behind the cocktail bar was very good (didnt get his name). Honestly the restaurant sits in what it feels like a cave, its very cosy and the view stunning. THe produce very fresh. They have a great team, keep it up....
Read moreThe first time we went it was for a margurita , we upgraded to the especial. No regrets ! Superior tequila and lavish pour. We saw an older gentleman sitting at the bar , a " trovador " he was immaculately dressed and we motioned for him to come and play for us , such a beautiful voice ! Definitely a highlight. We returned two nights later for dinner and more excellent drinks. The staff were extraordinary in every way , Our young waiter Pablo guided us thru the menu , after serving a tiny cup of shrimp soup as a sample. it's depth was beyond my descriptive efforts. The Aztec soup was a really bold but comforting dish highly recommended as well . It was another lucky night as the classy trovador had returned. On this night, he played for the diners for well over an hour , a soundtrack I won't forget. As many have said , this is a special place and I really wish I could explore it's menu over months of patronage.
only note of concern, early in the evening Beatles medely music was playing .. " stars on 45 thst sort of thing.. just does not suit the...
Read moreMy small family (two adults and a baby) visited this restaurant twice during our recent trip to Guanajuato. What an amazing hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and whisked away to a treetop canopy where the salsa and tequila flowed and the seafood dishes were mouthwatering. On our first visit, we tried two different fish dishes (the avocado and the surprise) and on our second visit, we ordered an array of aguachiles and ceviches and a seared octopus. Just wow! Everything was amazing and the service was top notch. They even had a musician performing on our second visit (a Sunday), which was a treat. The upper balcony is beautiful and the atmosphere is great for a night out. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food from our perspective (coming from the U.S.). Thank you for the...
