Van Gogh Restaurante — Restaurant in Guanajuato

We visited Mexico for two weeks and this was by far our worst experience. The food looks good, but that is about it. My mom had enchiladas Van Gogh, they were hot but lacked flavor. My dad had enchiladas mineras they were the best tasting dish but were very cold. My boyfriend had a consome de pollo, he thought the vegetables tasted freezer burned and that the broth had a funny taste, either gamey or rancid. I tasted it and thought it tasted okay after adding lime (which we had to wait 20min to ask for bc our server didn't come by) so I made him eat it, but he had a very bad stomach ache all night. I ordered a cream of mushroom soup, I thought it might have be microwaved, but it tasted fine, so I was going to eat it anyway, however the croutons are put on top of the soup and when I tried to eat them they were extremely soggy, like dropping a cookie in hot coffee. The server did not check on us until my parents were done with their meal. I told him I could not eat the soup, he took it away but had a rude demeanor. He still charged us for the soup. I normally wouldn't ask them to remove it from the bill, but the service was already terrible. When I asked about the charge for the soup, he said that all the food came out on time & that my complaint was strange, but he would ask anyway. They did remove the soup but we waited an extra 20min for it to be resolved. I would recommend you eat anywhere else. This is a management review. I was very very specific on ordering the plates to be very hot because outside seating was cold and at another restaurant they brought out the food on cold plates which makes the food cold. The restaurant server blamed the chef, the kitchen manager seemed to try and blame me, then the chef came out looked at the gringo spoke to his co- worker and went back inside. When restaurant s in this town realize that customers have a choice and will refuse this type of service and food. They should learn from smaller family owned businesses that care about what they put out as food. Cold food we ordered the waffles and it turned out to be $8 american dollars for waffles and it is literally the same small eggo waffles you buy at walmart or any grocery store . On top of that they was cold and barely any fruit on top but 2 blue berries on each one . The syrup they gave us was little packages like the ones they give you at mcdonalds or any fast food . We did not eat them and requested for it to be taken off our ticket but they made a big deal out of it and demanded their money for those waffles even though we did not eat them .
