Lancheros Mexican Seafood — Restaurant in Isla Mujeres

Stellar experience from start to finish! I had the best ceviche I’ve had here, and I highly recommend the stuffed avocado and the grilled shrimp + pineapple! Each dish absolutely hit the spot, especially with the soft sand between my toes at Lancheros, located directly on the beach—that was a new and unique experience! The staff were very attentive and helpful. There was a guitarist and band playing as I entered, but unfortunately they wrapped up for the night as I was waiting to order food. It seemed like it would be an entertaining and lively spot, but I went during the quieter, off-hours. A bit expensive, but worth it nonetheless, and it was the food that hit it...

We got scammed by the waiter. My partner paid. The waiter summed up our order. It was correct. Then he punched in an amount and took our card. I left a tip. Not a great one because the service was lacking and the food wasn’t great. But still a decent tip. He complained that tip is 20%. I didn’t add to the tip. We when left I asked my husband for the receipt. He said he didn’t get one. So I asked for it and suddenly the didn’t understand me. Luckily my husband speaks Spanish. We got the receipt and turns out the waiter added 30 dollars for tip on our credit card payment without telling us. And had the audacity to complain about the 15%...

Cannot say enough great things about this place!! It was amazing. We went in at about 7:30 & couldn’t believe we were the only ones there. We sit on the beach & basically had our own private dinner. The lobster tacos & cheese stuffed shrimp were so good, our favorite thing was the jalapeño salsa & mashed plantains! But the very best part of the dinner was our server Salvador! He was one of the kindest people we have met here, we enjoyed speaking with him so much! Definitely ask for him! I do recommend bringing cash bc the card machine had a little trouble but they were nice & patient & got it working....
