You’re not here for the atmosphere. It’s a cute small family run restaurant with a few tables only, that makes traditional style no frills tacos where the slow cooked meat is the main event. You need to know that this place also prepares takeout packages of their delicious and tender barbacoa beef and birria with fresh tortillas, chopped onion and cilantro, lime, rich beef broth, and their two spicy salsas, red and habanero. If you want to take a picnic to the beach or have it later for dinner. They sell the meat in 1 kilo, 1/2 kilo, and quarter kilo sizes, and it comes with corresponding amount of fresh corn tortillas and toppings. The 1/4 kg costs 150 pesos, under $8 USD. It’s really great value. I have a nostalgia for this as we used to get similar tacos from a night time stand near where we were living in Solidaridad. Birria is similar but cooked with more spices...

I stopped by México Lindo y Qué Rico for breakfast, and I’m so glad I did. This a little mom & pop restaurant. The service was quick and easy, and the food tasted just like a home-cooked meal. The cozy, intimate setting really adds to the charm — it’s a small place where you can actually watch the cook prepare your food, which makes the experience feel that much more personal.
It’s not located in the busiest or most obvious part of the island, so it might be easy to miss if you’re not looking — but that’s part of what makes it special. Read moreThe best tacos I’ve had, ever. Stayed on Isla Mujeres for 6 days and went here 5 out of the 6 days. It’s a family run store and is definitely a “hole in the wall” but don’t let this stop you from visiting.
One of the few places that lets you buy single tacos (vs most places on the island that have you buy 3). Tacos are very well priced at around $2-3 CAD each and are so filling. Definitely recommend getting the carnitas.
I got the Huevos Rancheros one time and it was delicious, I like that they don’t have it on a bed of tortilla chips, but instead on a tortilla. Still prefer the tacos over this though.
