We found this hidden cantina near the city center and was so glad we stopped in! It's easy to miss this bar when you walk by because it doesnt have doors. All you see is a big store door frame and a wall divider. Once you walk and peek around the divider, you will see this huge bar inside!
It was mid afternoon and we were able to find seats at the bar whereas all the tables were packed with many locals. The bartenders don't speak much english but we were able to get by with our minimal spanish. We drank lots of tequila....lots of tequila! And rather than just ordering whats familiar to us, we asked the bartender for his recommendations and we were not disappointed!
All the locals here were so nice and tried chatting up with us even though there was a language barrier, but I guess tequila is a universal language! LOL The drinks here are SUPER cheap too! Everyone here were pretty much drinking either a tequila cocktail or beer. They do offer other liquors but no one was drinking them.
I love finding hidden gems like these and hang out...

I came here with a group of friends on a Friday night. The place was packed and there were no seats available. We ordered a round of beers and listened to a man playing the piano in the middle of the cantina. Many people were singing along to well known Mexican songs. We later went to order a mixed drink and the bartender was soo generous with his tequila pours (literally the tequila was overflowing from the shot glass).
Around 11pm we heard the blast of a trumpet towards the front of the cantina and everyone started shouting and hollering. The mariachi band had arrived, and the place was completely lit. The band went around and played songs as people requested. The atmosphere was so lively and communal. Everyone was very friendly.
