We decided to eat dinner here after seeing the beautiful balcony overlooking the Malecón. The Cadillac margarita was great! But it all went downhill from there. We noticed that locals or native Mexicans were getting served more quickly and the servers were super attentive to everyone else in the restaurant. Our appetizer never came out and we had to ask about it. And then our meals came out about 10 minutes apart from each other. The servers looked confused and when our food did come, 3 out of 4 entrees were incorrect. Meat was undercooked. Fries were still frozen on the inside. The servers were unapologetic and acted as though they did not understand what we were asking for to correct the situation. There was absolutely NO service recovery attempt. We just felt unwelcome. I'm probably the easiest going person, especially while dining. I was very close to just plunking down some cash for our drinks and walking out. But we stuck it out because we were hungry. They also tried to charge us for an item we never ordered or received and acted like it was going to be too much of a hassle to adjust our bill. My first horrible dining experience in PV EVER and we have eaten in many many places and have had wonderful experiences. Choose one of the other places along the boardwalk if you are a tourist, especially if you...
Read moreThe only reason I gave one star was for the view. The service was less than adequate. The food was absolutely terrible. We all had Caesar salads. All of the salads had romaine lettuce that was rotting to the point that most of the leaves were black and slimey. My partners salad had almost no dressing, black romaine leaves, and the worst part, there was a large piece of plastic wrap mixed among the leaves. I called the waiter over and asked to speak to the manager, who I got was the senior waiter on duty. He was not very apologetic at all. He took the half eaten salads away, returned and said the manager would only give us a 50% reduction on two of the rotting salads. Unbelievably they were not the least concerned with plastic in our meals, and being served rotting food. I again asked to speak to the manager and was told that she was in the kitchen talking to the chef. We will never return to this poor example of a restaurant. This was the worst dining experience we have ever had in Puerto Vallarta. El Patron Viva Vallarta, you should shut your doors and take a course on how to be a restaurant that serves edible food, and how to be a manager that puts the customers satisfaction first. Shame on you....
Read moreThe view attracted us to the restaurant. We started with ordering drinks. The waiter asked us what kind of tequila we wanted without telling us there was an 80 peso upcharge for the brand of tequila he recommended which we found out only after receiving the bill. The margaritas were so-so and didn't taste like there was any alcohol them. The food took at least an hour to arrive. My queso fundido was almost burnt on the bottom. I had to saw it with my knife. My Caprese salad had mushy tomatoes and dried basil (fresh basil is the norm). One of our party had a label sticker in her dish. Another person got the wrong meal and the another had the"ribeye" tacos which tasted like fried fat. They presented the bill on a piece of paper with a handwritten total minus the meal with the sticker in it. We asked for a detailed receipt they reluctantly brought us a printed one. This is when we discovered the extra charges for the tequila. In short the food and drinks were disappointing. Service was terrible. I would recommend eating...
