Price Gouging - Tourist Trap! A group of local friends who live here decided to give this place a try for dinner and drinks as it would be a good place to watch over the holiday festivities. We were told a bottle was required to reserve a table and we agreed since we didn’t mind splitting a bottle of vodka between us. The waiter was very curt right from the beginning. He had agreed to separate our table in just 2 checks which we agreed to. An error was made on an order in which no olives were asked for on the bruschetta, but they came out with olives anyways. He acted like it was a huge inconvenience to take them back and make them right. I’m certain they just picked the olives off and brought it right back as if the olive flavor hadn’t already permeated the flavor. They came over offering to sell hookahs. A couple of us like hookah and have had hookahs together all over the world. Granted, we didn’t ask how much they were, but we never expected them to be $1500mxn ($82usd)!! What? That’s insane. Then when the bottle ran dry, I asked for another vodka soda. When the waiter came out he had 2 shots of vodka and asked if I wanted a double. I said very clearly “no”. He just left the other shot on the table and you guessed it… we were charged for 2 extra vodkas. Another patron ordered a mezcalita and we were also charged a double at $860mxn ($47usd). Outrageous. Go here if you want a great view and an empty...

I was tired of eating tacos, so I tried this place. Our waiter was “Edder,” who was extremely polite and welcoming. You could have easily thought he was a Host because he greeted us as we entered the restaurant. The young lady at the door was not that welcoming.

The atmosphere was perfect—not too overstimulating or underwhelming. The tables were far enough apart that I did feel claustrophobic. The music and temperature were good, and I was not in a rush to leave. We ordered two Caesar salads, and my hubby had Red Snapper. He described it as “good.” He ate most before I could take a picture.

I can't eat seafood and dislike tomato sauce, so I ordered something not on the menu. The waiter, Edder, was accommodating when I asked for Chicken Alfredo. The pasta and chicken were tender and seasoned well (not too much or too little).

The portion was good; I couldn't eat everything, so I carried out the remaining portion. You would not believe this, but a nice guy I met on the street asked for my carry-out. I was so happy he was also able to enjoy some good pasta. Thanks to the Chef for preparing a great dish. We will be back again. We appreciated the excellent...

Please read other negative reviews. These people are scammers. And they're very slick with it too!

Be aware of this restaurant. There's a host in front of the restaurant on the malecón side promoting and trying to get people in. He gave us a card and said we could get two margaritas for the price of one. He clearly pointed at the pizza menu and made us understand it was the pizzas. In the restaurant, we asked again if the promotion was true. It was verified by the waiter. So we ordered the two margarita pizzas. At any point, no one said that they referred to the cocktail, not the pizzas. We were charged for both of the pizzas. When we enquired about this, they said that it was the cocktails, not the pizzas.

In another review I read from earlier, they also charged for both of the margarita cocktails for the unfortunate tourists who fell for this. Don't fall for the 2 for 1 scam! They'll find their way to charge for both anyway...

For the record: the pizza base wasn't the best either. Too salty and left us wanting for a more authentic...

We recently moved to Puerto Vallarta, and I was excited to bring a friend here for a girls’ day out. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty—only a few tables were occupied. Despite that, we were denied a table with a view because they were “reserved.” We were seated in the back, even though multiple tables with views remained empty the entire time. I asked again politely, but the staff insisted those tables were unavailable. The service was slow, and while the food was acceptable, it lacked flavor. Watching the sunset from the back while empty front tables sat unused was especially frustrating. I had hoped to show my friend a great experience, but instead, we left feeling unwelcome. Now that I live here, I plan on hosting many visiting friends. Unfortunately, due to the lack of accommodation and courtesy, I won’t be recommending or returning to this restaurant.

You can’t beat the homemade, authentic Italian recipes and ambiance of La Posta. A beautiful view of the malecón and Bahía de Banderas mesmerizes as you dine. Unlike most restaurants in the area, they keep the sliding glass doors closed and the air conditioning ice cold in the summer (especially important if you’re eating a hot meal). The penne ragu is unbelievably good (the robust meat sauce is made with a red wine reduction). Prices are very reasonable (about $13 USD for the Penne Ragu even with a weak dollar). The staff is very attentive and remember you when you visit again. I always visit La Posta when visiting Pto Vta.
