It’s a shame that such good shrimp dishes need to get docked down to one star but here’s the reality. The restaurant is a minuscule small establishment which in itself would’ve been fine had we not been told to leave due to “customers waiting” before we were ready to leave. And the restaurant is overpriced relative to other establishments serving shrimp given its non glamorous location and lack of atmosphere. 435 pesos or more for all shrimp dishes is a bit much for many folks in an inflation ravaged world.

Upon arrival they told us we can’t sit outside even though their reservation parties didn’t show up for another hour. Worse than that that, there were two tables outside at 6 PM set for parties of 6 and four and when we left there were mysteriously 8 to 10 additional tables. So they stuck us inside the stiflingly hot and small dining room right next to the bathrooms. Apparently they only make room for people who show up later or maybe at their discretion? Never heard of a place adding tables at will after stuffing paying customers inside a stuffy un air conditioned room

I asked the owner for the second time if I can use a credit card. He said yes but conveniently neglected to say there’s a FIVE PERCENT fee which is excessively ridiculous. Business hint; give customers full disclosure of payment polices ahead of time.

The owner seemed overwhelmed and margaritas were among the worst we had during our stay in PV. The food was good but didn’t make up for the very rude pushing out of the door by staff after we finished. My friends who live here said they’ve not encountered that ever in PV. The positives are that the shrimp are quite large and sweet and the Khalua sauce was excellent. And the jicama salad was also large, flavorful and more affordable than the entrees. But you don’t come to a shrimp place for salads so except to overpay if you want to try some very good shrimp dishes. And either make a reservation or be prepared to have them rush you out....

We decided to dine at Jorge’s based on several recommendations.

First, the place is small and rustic but has charm. We found it quite cute, and happily sat outside to watch the evening unfold.

The service was good. Jorge was very nice.

Now for the food. We noticed right away the inflated prices on all drink and food items. It was what we would expect to pay at home…. But we figured that this must be elevated fare and worth the money. So we ordered an app to share and two mains.

They were good dishes but….

I ordered a fish filet stuffed with shrimp and (bay) scallops with a béchamel sauce, and sautéed veggies. Although tasty, the fish was slightly overcooked and my food came out of the kitchen luke warm. Had someone come by to ask how everything was, I would have mentioned that it was not hot, but no one came to check on us. My dining companion’s fish was also overcooked, and he felt the dish was swimming in sauce. The veggies were very basic. Sautéed carrots and broccoli…. Something I would make on a weeknight for a quick meal, next to a chicken breast. No thought at all given to them. Just filler.

This was hardly the elevated dish that we expected from such high prices. We were disappointed.

At the beginning of the night we asked if they accepted credit cards and were told that they did. But they neglected to mention that they added a 5% surcharge for the cc use. I’ve never seen such a high surcharge for using a cc…. Made us question whether they were just passing the fees on to us or if they were looking to make a profit on that as well.

Overall an ok night. Nice atmosphere, good service but very expensive for what you get. We wouldn’t come back here again. Not worth the money. Sorry Jorge….. lower your menu prices, and get rid of that ridiculous ...

The experience at this little place is something I'm having a hard time finding words for. It's a beautiful memory my husband and I will never forget! Let's start with the food,...mind blowing greatness!!!! We had 3 different dishes and all of them were beautiful, and tasted beyond belief! I could not stop eating! Everything on the menu sounded so wonderful. We have ate our way through PV for the last 10 days and this is hands down the best food and drinks in all of PV! The Margaritas we're also the best in all of PV!!!!...and trust me we have had our share of that too around PV! The place it's self is very cute and quiet, very relaxing! You have the feeling you are in someone's home. The owner's who are also the chefs and cooks are so welcoming! Such lovely people! They are as much a part of the beautiful experience here as the food. You can see the pride of what they do in everything!!!! I would rather eat here than any big fancy restaurant anywhere! To anyone who is reading this trying to decide on where to eat tonight - you are only cheating yourself if...

We've had some incredibly good food in this trip and this little spot is adorable. All hidden away down a dead end street and just full of flair. It's a family-owned and operated kind of joint. If you come, you should probably call ahead and make reservations. The good news - the soup is phenomenal. Like easily the best tortilla soup I've ever had. Same with the poblano crema. And the coconut shrimp? Entirely out of this world. Get that. Same with the blackberry margarita. I've never seen one and it was delish (if you don't mind all the seeds). The bad news? Nothing else on that boat (Jorge's Special, which I think actually costs MORE to get as a set-up than just ordering the individual meals) was very good. Bacon-wrapped shrimp. Eh. Stuffed fish fillet? WAY too fishy. Diablo shrimp in a 🍍? Too sweet. Too much pineapple, not enough shrimp. And it was 🥵🥵🥵🥵 in that little restaurant. I would go back and a) sit outside and b) just order the soup and coconut shrimp. You will NOT be sad.

I felt really compelled to leave a review for this place after my first experience. It’s kind of small and tucked away and would have never found it if it wasn’t for my friend and I wanting to find some food alternatives for around the area. The food is amazing. The menu is fresh, savory, does not skimp on portions or size, and unique! If you’re vacationing on a budget, the price point is more affordable than what you’ll find along the beach but the food is better at Jorge’s. There was something about the vibes about the place that I loved. It was a combination of the coziness of the space and the energy of the staff and Jorge. They do not sacrifice quality of their food or experience despite a smaller space. Really a great overall experience and will definitely go back again. (Cash only)
